Thanks to the Enviolo Trekking CVT hub, you have the freedom to choose from an array of gears. This innovative technology allows you to seamlessly transition between an infinite number of gears, without the derailleur noise and limitations. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-enviolo-shifter-1024x766

True Mechanical Bike Feel:

Ride1Up has designed the Prodigy V2 LX to mimic the experience of riding a non-electric bike. The combination of the Brose mid-drive motor and the Gates Carbon Belt drive creates a riding sensation that closely resembles traditional cycling. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-side-profile-1024x766

Smooth Ride, Every Time:

The 100mm travel air fork suspension ensures that you glide over rough terrain effortlessly, providing maximum comfort and control. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-front-air-suspension-100mm-765x1024

Exceptional Value:

The Prodigy V2 LX delivers premium components that you’d typically find on much more expensive e-bikes such as the Specialized Turbo Vado and Serial 1 City Rush, but at a fraction of the cost. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-enviolo-cvt-hub-and-gates-carbon-belt-drive-1024x766

Top-Notch Components:

Maxxis Rekon Race tires offer superb traction, and the 4-piston Tektro hydraulic brakes provide excellent stopping power, ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-maxxis-rekon-race-tire-1024x797

Integrated Rear Light:

The beautifully integrated rear light on the rear rack adds both style and safety to your ride. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-rear-rack-with-integrated-light-1024x762

Sleek Design:

The Prodigy V2 LX boasts clean and smoothed-down welds, giving it a polished and sophisticated appearance. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-90-nm-torque-1024x767

Low Maintenance:

With the Gates Carbon Belt drive paired with the Enviolo Trekking CVT hub, you won’t have to worry about greasing a chain or dealing with dirt and debris getting into your shifter, making maintenance a breeze. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-Enviolo-CVT-hub-continously-variable-transmission-1024x765

Stunning Matte Black Finish:

While the matte black finish exudes elegance, it’s worth noting that it can be a magnet for fingerprints. Click here for the current price of the Prodigy V2. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-metal-pedals-and-brose-mid-drive-motor-785x1024

The Cons That We’ve Noticed:

  • Lack of cable management
  • The battery cover is made from plastic and the latch feels cheap
  • The rear rack is small
  • No throttle only pedal assist
  • The matte black finish shows fingerprints easily
  • The front light needs to be brighter for safe night riding
  • Small thru-axle bolt

Cable Management:

The Prodigy V2 LX could benefit from improved cable management for a cleaner look. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-front-end-780x1024

Battery Cover Concerns:

A few of the bike’s components are plastic, such as the cover and latch. I would have preferred the cover to match the matte black finish of the bike and be attached to the battery.

Limited Rack Space:

The rear rack, while stylish, is relatively small, limiting its utility for larger cargo loads. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-rear-end-799x1024

No Throttle Option:

If you’re a fan of throttle-only operation, this e-bike may not be for you as it operates solely on pedal assist. I don’t mind it at all because the bike is super smooth and easy to pedal. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-velo-grip-and-brose-display-1024x767

Fingerprint Magnet:

The matte black finish, while beautiful, tends to show fingerprints easily. Ride1Up-Prodigy-V2-tektro-hydraulic-brakes-with-203mm-brake-discs-1024x766

Front Light Brightness:

The front light, while functional, could benefit from being brighter for safer night riding. It’s important to be seen by oncoming pedestrians & vehicles, but the throw of the light is too narrow for proper road visibility.

Small Thru-Axle Bolt:

The front thru-axle bolt with quick release is the only thing I feel like Ride1Up cheaped out with on this bike. I would have loved for them to use a thicker thru-axle bolt for safety reasons. While it is unlikely that I will ever have issues with the bolt, a nice thick bolt would give me more peace of mind when taking the Prodigy V2 LX on mountain bike trails.
