Retrospec Valen Rev – Good For Both Off-Roading And Commuting

The Retrospec Valen Rev blends affordability with power and style, boasting a 750W motor, retro design, and a comfortable ride. Retrospec Valen Rev – Things We Love

Comfortable ride: Although the bike doesn’t have full suspension, it does have a double crowned front fork with 100mm of travel that is enough for light off-roading. Combined with the extra-long foam saddle, it adds up to a cozy ride.

Powerful: The motor on the Valen Rev can reach speeds up to 28 mph, which is more than most e-bikes which cap at 20 mph. It also has a good amount of torque, great acceleration, and its battery can last at full throttle longer than other e-bikes.

Aesthetics: This bike simply looks cool. It’s got a retro style in between a bike and a motorcycle that is sure to turn heads.

Retrospec Valen Rev – Room For Improvement

Frame Height: The Valen Rev accomodates taller riders by having an extended seat that riders can sit further back on to pedal. However, this isn't necessarily super comfortable for taller riders.

No storage: There is no rear rack or cargo carrier on this bike, unusual for a bike of its size. More storage could make this bike better suited for adventuring or longer trips.

Commuter Safety: The powerful brakes make this bike safer for off-road settings, but it could really use turn signals before being considered a safe commuter bike.

The Freshly Charged Take

The Valen Rev is a fun bike to ride. It’s got a powerful motor that can take you far with a cool design. This bike toes the line between a city bike and an off-roading/adventure bike. If you want something great for off-roading, we would recommend a bike with full suspension or better storage. If you want a good commuter bike, there are bikes with additional safety features better suited for the city. But if you are looking for something that can do both for a reasonable price, the Valen Rev is an excellent choice.
