Push a finger into thick carpet pile and you'll feel it: dust and pet hair don't sit on top the way they do on hardwood, they work their way down into the fibers. Pulling that stuff back out takes real air pressure, measured in Pascals, or Pa, on most robot vacuum spec sheets. Below a certain point, a robot just skims the surface and leaves the deep-down debris exactly where it was.
Eight thousand Pa is where that changes. It's the line several current flagship models sit right at, and it's also the number that shows up most often when guides talk specifically about carpet depth cleaning and pet hair rather than general everyday suction. Below that, plenty of robots do a fine job on hard floors and light carpet, but they start to struggle once the pile gets thicker or the debris has had time to settle in.
One honest caveat: raw suction numbers only tell part of the story. A vacuum can advertise a huge Pa figure and still underperform if the airflow path from the intake to the dustbin is poorly designed, full of sharp turns that bleed off pressure before it ever reaches the floor. Suction also does nothing on its own without a brushroll built to agitate carpet fibers, not just glide over them. High Pa is the right starting filter for this category, but it works best paired with carpet-boost detection and a brush actually designed for the job, not as a number to chase in isolation.
The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is a flagship 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop engineered to solve the industry’s persistent "low-clearance" problem with an impossibly thin 3.13-inch (7.95 cm) profile. Utilizing a retractable VersaLift™ DToF LiDAR sensor, the robot maintains 360° navigation in open areas but physically lowers its sensor to glide under beds, sofas, and cabinets that traditional robots cannot reach. Performance is driven by an industry-leading 35,000 Pa Vormax™ suction system and a unique CarpetForce™ retractable pressure plate that seals against fibers to deep-clean carpets like a full-sized upright. The X60 Max Ultra Complete features the OmniSight™ AI system with dual 120° cameras to identify over 280 types of objects, paired with an infrared "Proactive Light" to detect hair and spills invisible to standard sensors. Its all-in-one 100°C ThermoHub™ dock provides ultimate hands-free maintenance, performing 212°F hot-water mop washing, heated drying, and dual-solution management for both floor cleaning and pet odor elimination.
The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 is an advanced all-in-one cleaning solution that features the world's first HydroJet™ self-cleaning roller mop and a powerful 20,000 Pa turbo suction motor. It is designed for maximum efficiency with its CornerRover™ Arm for edge-to-edge cleaning and AI. See™ obstacle avoidance technology that can identify and avoid over 200 objects. The unit includes a fully automated base station that handles self-emptying, self-refilling, self-washing, and hot-air drying for a truly hands-free experience.
The MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller Complete is a powerhouse robot vacuum designed for high-performance deep cleaning and hands-free maintenance. It stands out with its industry-leading 28,000Pa suction power and Zero-Tangle Technology, making it particularly effective for homes with pets. The unit features an AI-Powered LiftPro™ Chassis that can climb obstacles up to 3.15 inches (8cm) and a FlexScope™ Navigation system with a retractable sensor that allows the vacuum to shrink to just 96mm tall to clean under low furniture. For mopping, it uses HydroForce™ high-pressure deep cleaning and AutoShield™ technology to physically protect carpets from moisture.
