The Gotrax GX Zero is here! This is Gotrax’s latest dual motor offering, coming in at the incredible price of $999. It also has a removable battery, full suspension, and a whole host of other features crammed in. We were impressed with the speed, hill-climbing power, and multiple riding modes that make this just about the best scooter $999 can buy. Things We Love

Price Point: The Gotrax GX Zero is the second-cheapest scooter we’ve reviewed on the channel with dual motors (behind the Inmotion Climber), and by far the cheapest we’ve reviewed that has a removable battery. Both of these features put together, plus a 28mph top speed, is incredible for a scooter with a price tag of $999.

Lights: This is also the first scooter we’ve seen that has LED lights running up the front control arms. Pretty unique touch that gives the scooter an aesthetic flair.

Removable Battery: We love the removable battery. The connector is easy to get on and off (unlike the Wolf King GTR with a pretty janky removable battery connection), and it’s super easy to pop the battery out of the deck to take it inside for charging.

Sheer No. of Features: RGB lights, full suspension, removable battery, dual motors, color display, tons of buttons to adjust settings – this scooter is the whole package. Nearly all scooters with this number of features are in the $1,300-$2,000 price range.

Folding Mechanism: Some scooters automatically click into place when you fold down the stem, but the Gotrax Zero does not. However, the latch is still incredibly sturdy, and won’t have any issues holding up the deck and frame of the scooter.

Kickplate: The kickplate on the Gotrax Zero is at a nice angle, making it ergonomically comfortable for many different riding positions.

Stem Wobble: The neck, or stem of the scooter, is super thick and doesn’t wobble or rattle at any speed. Also, the handlebars don’t suffer swing from side to side at high speeds, which is something you sometimes see from single-stem scooters without a steering dampener.

Things We Don’t Like

Brakes Swapped: Most scooters (unlike bikes) have the front brake on the right side, and the rear brake on the left side. This is swapped on the Gotrax GX Zero, which can take some getting used to. It also makes it a little more challenging to quickly grab the rear brake, since you have to re-grip your right hand on the handlebar.

Display: We love the color display, but it’s not very easy to read in direct sunlight. A TFT display would be much nicer, but for the price point, we understand the trade-off.

Range: The battery is 36V 16Ah, which is actually very small relative to the scooter’s speed, meaning you can run this out in around 12 miles if you are riding full out.

Walk Mode + Park Mode: Both of these features are nice in theory, but for a small, light scooter like the Gotrax GX Zero, walk mode is pretty useless, since the scooter is easy to ride at low speeds, or push alongside you while walking. Also, it’s annoying that you have to hold down the button for 5 entire seconds to engage walk mode. Park mode is also frustrating – it auto engages anytime you aren’t riding the scooter for more than a few seconds, and you have to always remember to grab the brakes before you re-engage the throttle.

The Freshly Charged Take

The Gotrax GX Zero is a no-brainer for somebody with only $1,000 and you want the best possible scooter you can buy, you definitely want to check out the Gotrax GX Zero. We can’t think of another scooter with this many features, at this incredible price point.
