Since its release, the Veteran Sherman has been a wildly popular electric unicycle. So instead of making big changes to the wheel, for the Sherman Max they simply improved on the biggest weaknesses.
The Veteran Sherman Max looks nearly identical to previous versions, but Leaper Kim, the makers of the Sherman, upgraded key internal components to make an already powerful EUC even more powerful and with even more range.

What’s new on the Veteran Sherman Max?
- 3,600Wh battery pack (400Wh more than previous version)
- 2,800W motor

What’s the range on the Veteran Sherman Max?
The stated range on the Veterman Sherman Max is 144 miles (231km).
The stated range is based on a 170 lb rider riding at a conservative 20 mph.
The large range is based on the massive 3600Wh battery, which is 12.5% larger than the previous 3200Wh battery on the Veteran Sherman.
How big is the motor on the Veteran Sherman Max?
The motor on the Veteran Sherman Max is 2800 watts.
The new motor is 12% bigger than the 2500 watt motor on the original Veteran Sherman.
Many people complained the original Sherman didn’t have enough torque, and Leaperkim listened. The motor phase wire now has a thicker gauge, helping the Sherman Max produce 20% more torque than the original Sherman.
What about the rim on the Veteran Sherman Max?
The rim on the Veteran Sherman Max is now thicker and made of a stronger alloy.
On previous versions of the Sherman, the weak rim was the kryptonite of the EUC. Leaperkim has now improved the rim, and hopefully there will not be as many cracked rims… Only time will tell!
Make sure to check your tire PSI weekly, because under inflation is the number one cause for cracked rims.
Does the Veteran Sherman Max have BMS issues?
In previous versions of the Veteran Sherman, the shell had plastic ridges lining the inside that could damage the battery management system (BMS). The new Veteran Sherman Max has removed the plastic pieces to prevent damage.
There should not be BMS issues on the new Veteran Sherman Max.

What I hate about the Sherman Max
- No kickstand
- No speakers
- No fender
- No kill switch
- Heavy
- Low pedal clearance
The Veteran Sherman Max is a no frills EUC. It’s made to be a fast, powerful, and durable, but that’s about it.
The low pedal clearance is poor for intense single track, technical trail, and off road riding. Some may find the lack of a kill switch an inconvenience.
In addition, the Sherman Max is a heavy wheel.
There’s no kickstand or speakers on the Veteran Sherman Max, but you can add those to the roll cage.
Conclusion
Overall, the Veteran Sherman Max is a great no frills wheel. True to its military tank inspired name, the Veteran Sherman Max is built like a tank and it’s built to perform.
The Sherman Max is powerful and durable but it lacks some features that often come standard on other EUCs.
