The Dualtron Electric Scooter Lineup from Voro Motors

The Dualtron Electric Scooter Lineup from Voro Motors

by freshlycharged

In 2015, Minimotors created the world’s first dual motor off-roading electric scooter powered by brushless DC-powered motors, BLDC. Since 2015, Minimotors has been innovating scooters under the Dualtron brand making some of the most powerful electric scooters in the world.

Jimmy and I flew into Los Angeles to visit Voro Motors and test out the full Dualtron lineup that they carry. It was incredible to see all the different models so we could share our opinions on them. With all the lights that Dualtron scooters have, it was a party!

In this review, we will tell you what we love and hate about all the Dualtron scooters that Voro Motors carries.

Dualtron Mini

Just like the name says, the Dualtron Mini is the smallest of the bunch. It’s compact and can easily be transported onto public transportation or loaded into vehicles. It is the only single motor scooter that Dualtron offers.

A lot of lightweight scooters are designed to be a last-mile solution. However, with a range of up to 37 miles, the Mini can be much more than a last-mile solution. The mini has LED lights in the stem and deck, so you can tell it’s a Dualtron immediately.

What I love about the Dualtron Mini

  • Lightweight only 48 lbs
  • Compact
  • Pneumatic tires
  • LED lights
  • Portable

What I hate about the Dualtron Mini

  • Single motor
  • Single rear drum brake
  • Small deck

Dualtron Eagle Pro

The Dualtron Eagle Pro is one of the most nimble electric scooters that Dualtron offers. The slim 10-inch by 2.5-inch tires and the suspension cartridges make cornering at high speeds a breeze on the Eagle Pro.

Weighing in at only 66 lbs, it is the second lightest Dualtron scooter that Voro has to offer. If you are looking for a fast compact scooter, the Dualtron Eagle Pro should be on your radar!

What I love about the Eagle Pro

  • Dual motors
  • Stable at high speeds
  • LED lights
  • Pneumatic tires
  • Great at cornering

What I hate about the Eagle Pro

  • No kick plate
  • Smaller battery
  • Mechanical disc brakes
  • Doesn’t lock into itself when folded
  • Small collar to lock stem into place

Dualtron Victor

The Victor is one of my favorite Dualtron scooters. The Victor has a solid ride feel and I have reached 45 mph on it with zero speed wobbles.

I find the ride feel is like the Eagle Pro but it has a bigger battery, hydraulic disc brakes, and slightly wider tires. If you are on the fence between the Victor and Eagle Pro, I would go with the Victor.

What I love about the Dualtron Victor

  • Ride feel
  • Stable at high speeds
  • Locks into itself when folded
  • LED lights
  • Great range
  • 10 inch by 3 inch tires

What I hate about the Dualtron Victor

  • No kick plate
  • Can slip out of clasp when carrying it collapsed
  • No turn signals`

Dualtron Victor Luxury

The Dualtron Victor Luxury adds style to an already great scooter. They added a much-needed kick plate and integrated lights into it. The grip tape deck has been replaced with a rubber deck that is easy to clean.

The Dualtron Victor looks a little bland but the Victor Luxury adds style points with its design.

What I love about the Dualtron Victor Luxury

  • Kick plate with integrated lights
  • Stable at high speeds
  • Kick plate acts as a carrying handle
  • Led lights in stem, deck, and neck
  • Locks into itself when folded

What I hate about the Dualtron Victor Luxury

  • Same battery as the Dualtron Victor
  • No turn signals
  • Kick plate can feel odd due to the large hole

Dualtron Ultra 2 Up

The Ultra 2 Up is the only Dualtron scooter that comes stock with off-road tires. If you like the ride feel of the Kaabo Mantis but want more speed and range, the Dualtron Ultra 2 Up is the perfect upgrade. The single stem with off-road tires makes it nimble and perfect for riding technical trails.

With its massive 72V 40Ah battery you will get plenty of range and speed. The large deck helps to prevent foot cramping because it allows you to shuffle your feet on marathon rides.

What I love about the Dualtron Ultra 2 Up

  • Massive battery
  • Off-road tires
  • Huge deck
  • Kick plate
  • Nutt hydraulic disc brakes

What I hate about the Dualtron Ultra 2 Up

  • Doesn’t lock into itself when folded
  • Front-facing lights are not bright enough for night riding
  • The controller is a pain to replace

Dualtron Achilleus

The Dualtron Achilleus is a mash-up between the Dualtron Victor and Dualtron Thunder 2. The deck size is similar to the Victor but It has a rubber deck and kick plate with integrated lights like the Dualtron Thunder 2.

The Achilleus is like a compact Dualtron Thunder 2

What I love about the Dualtron Achilleus

  • 11-inch by 4-inch street tires
  • Red accents
  • Integrated lights in kickplate
  •  9-step rubber suspension
  • It locks into itself when folded

What I hate about the Dualtron Achilleus

  • No turn signals
  • Kick plate is a little bit of an awkward angle

Dualtron City

The Dualtron City is the first stand-up scooter with 15-inch tires. The massive tires roll over obstacles easily and help increase safety. The acceleration curve on the City is much more controllable compared to the other Dualtron scooters.

The large control arms look mesmerizing with bright LED lights in them. The City isn’t portable but it is one of the most comfortable electric scooters I’ve tested out.

What I love about the Dualtron City

  • Massive 15-inch tires
  • Rolls over potholes and imperfections with ease
  • Bright lights in control arms
  • Turn signals
  • Easy to clean rubber deck
  • Swappable batteries

What I hate about the Dualtron City

  • Low clearance
  • Not portable
  • Short stem and handlebar height
  • Rubber deck gets dirty fast
  • Acceleration curve is slower compared to other Dualtrons

Dualtron Thunder

The Dualtron Thunder has been a wildly popular scooter for over 4 years. Dualtron phases out scooters quickly, but there is a reason why they still sell the Thunder.

The Thunder is an ultra-dependable scooter that offers great range and stability at high speeds. If you want a scooter that is tried and true, the Thunder has been around forever.

What I love about the Dualtron Thunder

  • Dependable
  • Stable at high speeds
  • 11-inch by 4-inch tires
  • Hazard lights help be seen at night time

What I hate about the Dualtron Thunder

  • Slower acceleration curve compared to other Dualtron scooters
  • Can get stuck in clamp when folded
  • No turn signals

Dualtron Thunder 2

The Dualtron Thunder was so popular that it only made sense for Minimotors to make a Thunder 2 electric scooter. The Thunder 2 offers a 72V 40Ah battery capable of speeds of up to 60mph.

The double-click throttle allows you to deliver more power to the motors for an exhilarating ride. Minimotors added turn signals and a kick plate with integrated lights to bring the Thunder to 2022. The CNC aluminum buttons add a sophisticated look and are by far my favorite scooter buttons offered by any manufacturer.

The best part is you won’t have to worry about flats with the self healing tires.

What I love about the Dualtron Thunder 2

  • Fast acceleration curve
  • Stable at high speeds
  • CNC aluminum buttons
  • Kick plate with integrated lights
  • Double click throttle for an extra boost of power
  • Sleek design
  • Turn signals
  • Self healing tires

What I hate about the Dualtron Thunder 2

  • Rubber deck gets dirty fast
  • Heavy
  • Expensive

Dualtron Storm

The Storm has tons of power and range due to the 72V 40Ah battery. The Storm is my least favorite Dualtron scooter due to the instability at high speeds and kick plate that flexes.

If you are looking for raw power and a scooter that is easy to hop up curbs, the Dualtron Storm excels in those departments. I do like that they offer an exchangable battery, but the battery is so heavy that you don’t want to ride with an extra one in your backpack.

What I love about the Dualtron Storm

  • Massive range
  • Fast acceleration
  • CNC aluminum buttons
  • Easy to hop up curbs
  • Exchangable battery

What I hate about the Dualtron Storm

  • Unstable at speeds higher than 30 mph causing speed wobbles
  • Kick plate flexes too much
  • Needs a steering damper
  • Good chance your controller goes bad

Dualtron Storm Limited

The Storm Limited is the first Dualtron scooter to offer an 84V battery system. I assume a lot of people complained about the death wobbles on the Storm, so they added a steering damp.

I’m torn on the Storm Limited because I love the looks and power, but they are constantly plagued with controller issues. And if you have to replace the controller, it takes 4+ hours to do so.

I hope Minimotors fixes the controller issues because the Storm Limited is one incredible scooter.

What I love about the Dualtron Storm Limited

  • CNC aluminum buttons
  • Steering damper
  • 84 volt battery system
  • Massive battery with huge range
  • Overall look

What I hate about the Dualtron Storm Limited

  • Rear kick plate flexes
  • Major controller issues

Dualtron X2

The X2 is the largest and heaviest scooter that Dualtron offers.

When riding the X2, it feels like riding on a cloud. The massive adjustable suspension combined with huge 13-inch tires roll over any imperfection in the road. The bouncy feels reminds me of riding in my brother’s cadillac as a teenager.

The additional seat that can be purchased turns the X2 into a motorcycle. I love that I can adjust the suspension to be stiff or soft. However, the suspension is too soft at the stiffest setting.

I find myself getting speed wobbles on the X2 at high speeds because the suspension is not stiff enough. I would like to see a steering damper added to the X2. You will also want to avoid riding the X2 on the sidewalk because the scooter is so big.

What I love about the Dualtron X2

  • Massive deck
  • Bright light safe for night riding
  • Huge 13-inch tires
  • Adjustable suspension
  • Option for seated riding
  • Rolls over imperfections in the road with ease

What I hate about the Dualtron X2

  • Suspension is too soft in the stiffest setting
  • Heavy
  • Expensive
  • Speed wobbles at high speeds
