Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport: Complete Review

Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport: Complete Review

by freshlycharged

The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is the fastest electric scooter that we’ve been able to test and review.

From the specs, I was so excited to get my hands on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport. Everything on paper makes the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport seem like one of the best scooters of 2021.

But electric scooter specs can be misleading and until you get to ride it, you never know if it will be a home run or a dud.

After opening the box and riding it for the first time, I can tell you the Bronco is definitely a home run! The 100 Amp Sine Wave controller produces incredible controlled power that is extremely quiet.

Here’s our unboxing and first ride experience:

I’m not a big fan of QS-S4 displays but coupling that with a Sine Wave controller creates the smoothest throttle acceleration I have ever felt.

We are going to let you know our impressions here, and we will have a more in depth review in this article as we gain more experience and miles with the Bronco so make sure to check back for updates in this article.

Here is our full review:

What Kind of Controller does the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport use?

The Bronco Xtreme 11 uses a 2-in-1 72V 100A Sine-wave controller.  The 100A Sine-wave controller is what sets the Bronco Xtreme 11 apart from the competition.  The controller creates ultra-smooth acceleration that is extremely quiet.

I have enjoyed riding many high-powered scooters in the past.  For most high-powered scooters, as soon as you touch the throttle softly in dual motors, it creates this jerkiness feeling.  The abrupt throttle response is why you see many people tapping trigger throttles in videos when making tight turns.

With the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport, you can lightly touch the trigger throttle and cruise around at 2-5 mph without that jerky feeling that you can experience on some of the other high powered electric scooters.

The best part of the Bronco is when you drop the throttle, you can peel out for 30 feet. The 100A Sine-wave controller delivers 8400 Watts of controlled peak power.

Most controllers use square wave technology, also known as a trapezoidal wave.  Sine-wave creates a more rounded wave that is a lot quieter when ramping up speeds.  The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is the fastest and quietest scooter I have ever ridden.

Does the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport come with a Steering Damper?

My dream is all scooters that go above 30 mph come standard with a steering damper. I love high-powered scooters, and safety is one of the most important factors for me. One of the most common accident with high-powered scooters is overcorrecting the steering and causing the scooter to have speed wobbles.

Luckily, the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport comes with a steering damper that prevents overcorrecting. You can adjust the steering damper to be stiff when traveling at high speeds, and you can make it soft when attempting to be more nimble. I like to ride at high speeds, so I have it stiff 99% of the time.

What type of Suspension is on the rear of the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

There is an adjustable DNM air suspension on the rear of the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport. Sometimes DNM air suspension does not work on scooters if the suspension is vertical because it will bottom out. On the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport, the suspension is horizontal, so the DNM air suspension works incredibly well.

You will find a shock pump and instructions in the box, and you can pump up the DNM air suspension to your correct weight. You can adjust the rebound on the suspension to be fast or slow. I mainly ride the scooter fast, so I have it on a slow rebound 99% of the time.

When taking the scooter off-roading or on bumpy roads, you will want to adjust it to a rapid rebound to create a more comfortable ride.

What type of Suspension is on the front of the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport has an adjustable DNM hydraulic suspension on the front. The suspension is rated for up to 2000 lbs, so it is plenty. I love that I can dial in the rebound to my preferred riding.

I also love that I can adjust the front and rear suspension to have a slower rebound to make it stiff. While doing speed tests on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport, it was the most stable scooter I’ve ridden at high speeds. Combining the steering damper with the adjustable suspension is why the Bronco is so stable.

How Big is the Deck on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

The massive deck on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is 12 inches wide by 22.5 inches long (30.5 cm by 57 cm). The kick plate is 5.75 inches by 5.75 inches which adds to the roomy deck (14.5 cm by 14.5 cm). The deck is perfect for riders with huge feet and comfort when going long distances.

How Tall is the Stem on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

I love tall stems because I am 6 feet tall. The top of the stem is 41 inches from the deck and 51 inches from the ground. In comparison, the Wolf King is 38 inches from the deck, and is a little too low for my liking.

How wide are the handlebars on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

Wider handlebars help increase stability on electric scooters. The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport has the widest collapsible handlebars I have ever seen on an electric scooter. The handlebars measure at 27.5 inches wide. (70 centimeters)

When I received the Bronco, I had a tiny bit of play on the Xtasy collapsible handlebars. There is a bolt that you can adjust, and now I have zero play in the handlebars. If I start to get some handlebar play in the future, I would switch it out for a solid handlebar.

How Big is the Battery on the Bronco Extreme 11 Sport?

The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport boasts a massive 72V 35 Ah battery that equates to 2520 watt hours. The battery is huge and delivers a ton of power and range. The battery pack features LG MJ1 3500mAh (20S 10P).

The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport comes standard with a 1.75A charger and can take up to 20 hours to charge the scooter. You can purchase a 5A rapid charger and speed up the process to 7 hours of charging.

You can get a free rapid charger by mentioning got scooter in your notes when purchasing from Free Motion.

What is the Peak Power of the Bronco Extreme 11 Sport?

The Bronco Xtreme Sport 11 has a 72V battery that has a top charge of 84V. Take that top charge of 84V and times it by the 2-in-1 100A Sine-wave controller, and you get a peak power of 8400 Watts. The Bronco Extreme produces so much power it has unreal acceleration stats.

Even though one of Dragy stats is not all verified, you can notice it was pacing to beat the Dragy with all verified stats. I was unable to get above 60 mph, but I was doing speed tests on a 55 degree day weighing 195 lbs. I could hit 57 mph and think I could beat it on a warm sunny 70 degree+ day.

Does the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport use Cast or Forged Parts?

Electric scooters are a blast but I am not a fan that most use cast metal. Cast metal normally works fine, but it is weaker than forged parts. If there are any defects with cast metal parts, it is hard to notice if they are going to break.

Forged parts have a higher tensile strength, which makes them stronger. Most parts on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport are forged and cut with a CNC machine. The control arms, swing arms, neck, and kick plate are forged metal pieces shaped with a CNC machine.

The deck is aluminum and has high strength carbon steel rods inside it. The build quality of the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is superior to most.

Drawbacks of the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport

The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is my new favorite electric scooter. However, like all electric scooters, there are drawbacks. The drawbacks on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport are small, and all issues can be resolved with simple upgrades.

  1. Kickstand is awful
  2. Handlebar grips rotate
  3. Higher angled kick plate that can be slippery when wet
  4. Small play in Xtasy handlebars
  5. Cheap red and yellow plastic buttons
  6. Lights are not sufficient for safe night riding

Does the Kickstand work well on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

The kickstand on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is terrible. The kickstand works, but you have to make sure the weight of the scooter is distributed correctly. The rubber piece on the end of the kickstand does not fit flat against the ground.

If you got a new rubber piece that had more of an angle, so the kickstand sits flush with the ground, that would likely resolve your issue. You can also upgrade to a beefier kickstand.

Handlebar Grips on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport Rotate

Pretty much any handlebar grip that does not have Allen bolts to tighten, will always rotate on you. You can fix the rotating by pulling off the grips and spraying some hairspray on the handlebars. You can also purchase upgraded handlebar grips, and choose your style and color that you like.

The Kick Plate on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport

The kick plate on the Bronco is cast metal and could be slippery when wet. When I did the unboxing, I wasn’t wearing my typical riding shoes and it was a little slippery. However, when I put on my MTE Vans with grippy soles, they did not slip at all.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the angle of the kick plate at first. But after riding the Bronco more, I have found the angle to be a non issue. I do hear they are planning on coming out with a kick plate with less of an angle.

Does the Collapsible Xtasy Handlebars have any Play on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

When I first got the Bronco, there was a tiny amount of play in the Xtasy handlebars. When I’m going over 30 mph on any electric scooter, I want zero play in the handlebars. However, I was able to find a small bolt on the handlebars that I could adjust to create zero play.

I am delighted there is no movement in the handlebars now. In the future, if I do notice any play on the handlebars, I will simply upgrade to a standard wide handlebar.

The Dreaded Yellow and Red Dual Motors and Turbo Button

I like that most scooter companies are going away from the cheap yellow and red buttons that toggle the single/dual motors and eco/turbo mode. However, the new black waterproof buttons are impossible to tell what setting you are in without actually riding the scooter.

The only benefit to the yellow and red buttons is you know what setting you are in, even though they are set up incorrectly and are in reverse.

Are the Lights any good on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

The lights on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport are not sufficient for safe night riding. Lights at deck level do not project enough light in front of you. There are many options when it comes to light upgrades.

I have come to peace that 90% of electric scooters have terrible lights for night riding. The only four scooters that I’ve reviewed that have a bright enough light for night riding is the VSETT 11+Kaabo Wolf KingKaabo Wolf Warrior, and Currus Panther.

Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport Controller Issues

The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport we tested and reviewed never had any controller issues. Some people experienced controller issues when hitting 40-50 mph, which seemed like the scooter was restricting power to the motors. Bronco has made updates to the controller to fix the throttling issues and make it easier to change the controller if you have any problems.

Updates to the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport

We reviewed and tested the first production model of the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport. Since the first production, there have been some changes to the updated versions of the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport. The changes are:

  • 200 Panasonic 18650 GA cells in a 20s10p configuration
  • Custom made BMS
  • New handlebar grips
  • Updated controllers

Who is the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport Perfect for?

The adjustable suspension, damper and Sine-wave controller make the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport one of the most versatile electric scooters on the market.

You can adjust all settings to be stiff when traveling at high speeds, and you can soften everything up if you are going to be doing more off-roading. The velvety smooth throttle allows the user to be in full control of the acceleration.

You can turn the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport to single motor and eco mode, and you get a scooter that is still quick and has tons of range. Dial up the Bronco into dual motor and turbo mode, and you have the fastest scooter we have ever tested. From adrenaline junkie to conservative riders, the Bronco can satisfy any scooter riders’ needs.

Who should avoid the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport?

If you are going to take your scooter off-roading, the Wolf King+ or Wolf Warrior 11+ is a much better option than the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport.

If you are on a budget, the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is one of the most expensive electric scooters out there.

If you are not seeking to go over 40 mph, there are a lot more scooter options for half the cost.

The Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport is not for everyone. However, if you want one of the best electric scooters on the market you must add the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport to your list.

Final Thoughts on the Bronco Escooter

All these impressive features create one incredible electric scooter. You can fine tune the suspension and steering damper to produce an ultra stiff ride perfect at high speeds. If you want to go off-roading, you can adjust the suspension to be softer and rebound faster.

I had no problem keeping the throttle at 2-5 mph and when I wanted to unleash the power, I could make the tires peel out for 30 feet. I’ve never felt that much control at low speeds when riding high-powered scooters.

After riding the Bronco, it is currently my favorite scooter I have ever ridden.
