We’ve covered Future Motion’s Onewheel XR in past articles (see here and here), but the time has come for a new article, because the Onewheel XR is officially getting a refresh! Dubbed the “Onewheel XR Classic“, this unique board brings back the style, looks and feel of the original Onewheel XR (released in 2018), coupled with the updated tech and extra power from the Onewheel GT. Some are calling it the “best all around Onewheel”. Keep reading for our full list of specs and features!

Compatibility Across Onewheels

The new Onewheel XR Classic is compatible with the tires and footpads of the GT or GT S-Series, and the charger of the GT. It’s great to see that Future Motion is introducing new models that share compatibility with a lot of the old models that people will have lying around in their garages.

The Freshly Charged Take

The Onewheel XR Classic is sort of a “Goldilocks board” – lighter than the GT, but much more range and speed than the Pint S. This would make a great first board, as it can do pretty much everything aside from the most extreme trail riding, which is reserved for racing boards like the GT S-Series. As Jimmy Chang put it: “Personally, I’m excited for this new product. I’ve always been fond of the original look of the Onewheel. The new Onewheels are nice, but the OG design is a classic that I’m glad they brought back.
