The Cannondale FlyingV is a lightweight electric urban bicycle constructed with a full carbon fiber frame and fork system. It is equipped with a Bosch Performance Line Sprint motor that provides sixty Newton meters of torque and six hundred watts of peak power to support assisted speeds up to twenty eight miles per hour. Energy is stored in an integrated Bosch CompactTube four hundred watt hour battery mounted within the downtube. The drivetrain features a Gates CDX carbon belt drive paired with a Shimano Nexus Inter 5E five speed internal gear hub and microSHIFT trigger shifters. Safety and utility components include forged carbon fiber fenders along with integrated Supernova LED lighting and a rear pannier rack rated for forty pounds. The build includes Shimano UR300 hydraulic disc brakes with one hundred eighty millimeter rotors and Continental Contact Urban tires on Ryde alloy rims. Riders can interface with the bike using an SP Connect SPC plus stem mount and the Cannondale AppTag system to utilize a smartphone as a primary dashboard.
The Freshly Charged Take
After more than 100 ebikes tested, Andrew on the Freshly Charged team calls the Cannondale Flying V the most refined and agile ebike he has ridden. The full carbon fiber build, Gates carbon belt drive, Bosch mid-drive motor, and adaptive auto pedal assist combine into something that feels less like a powered commuter and more like a genuinely exceptional bicycle that happens to hit 28 mph. The criticisms are minor: a front light that needs more output, a rear light that does not double as a brake light, and no throttle option. At a premium price, the Flying V earns it.
