The Dualtron Ultra 2 is one of the few Dualtron scooters to come with off-road tires, and it is an off-roading beast! Jimmy and I rode the Dualtron Ultra 2 to the Hollywood sign on smooth pavement and dirt hilly roads to put it to the test. If you like the nimbleness of the Kaabo Mantis but would like more power and range, the Dualtron Ultra 2 is a scooter you should be checking out. There is a lot to love about the Dualtron Ultra 2. The massive deck and huge kick plate make it comfortable for marathon rides because it allows you to shuffle your feet while riding. The massive 72V 40Ah battery will get you plenty of range that most riders will be tired by the time they can exhaust the battery. When cruising over 50 mph, the Ultra 2 is stable and doesn’t have speed wobbles. With the ability to switch out suspension cartridges and adjust the deck height, you can dial in the Ultra 2 for all types of riding. The suspension paired with the 11-inch tubeless pneumatic tires helps roll over roots, rocks, and imperfections in the road. The single stem allows you to be agile while riding on trails, whereas the Kaabo Wolf King GT dual stems can feel clunky. The Dualtron Ultra 2 looks great with its controllable RGB LED lights. What I hate about the Dualtron Ultra 2

• Squeaky stem
• Stem play
• Changing suspension can be tedious task
• Tips on kick plate can break during shipping
• Hard to work on if you have controller issues
• Front facing lights are not bright enough safe night riding

Dualtrons are notorious for having a little bit of stem movement. It used to bother me but I have gotten used to the stem play. Luckily, I have never seen anyone on forums complaining about a broken stem. On top of the stem play, the stem can become squeaky over time. Removing the two bolts that connect the stem and adding lithium grease will fix the squeaks, but it can be obnoxious if you don’t know how to fix it. If you want to change the suspension and adjust the height, it can be a tedious task. However, I love that I can at least change the suspension and deck height based on my riding style. There is no other scooter brand that we know of that allows you to adjust the height. The controller is located in the kick plate. So if you ever need to work on the controller, it can be a daunting process that is time consuming. UPS or FedEx will push their scooters off the truck and set it on its side. If dropped on the side with the kick plate, the tips will often break off. If you do a lot of night riding, we suggest getting a light for the handlebar because the front facing lights suck. They are not super bright and are too low to the ground. You can easily be seen with the RGB LED lights on the stem and deck, but you won’t be able to see the road unless you add an additional light.

Final Thoughts

Dualtron makes high quality scooters and the Ultra 2 is no exception. The Dualtron Ultra 2 is not a perfect scooter, but it is one of my favorite electric scooters for off-roading. The Dualtron Ultra 2 offers speeds up to 56 mph and a stated range of 64 miles. I have a good friend that has squeezed out 100 miles of range so I was surprised Dualtron is understating the range. If you are looking for a high powered off-roading scooter with a massive battery, you wont find many better than the Dualtron Ultra 2.
