SiFly Efoil Review: New Efoils for Beginners & Budget Riders in 2025

by Nathan Schaumann

We flew to sunny Florida to test the 2025 SiFly eFoil lineup, and we were seriously impressed. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a heavier rider, or an experienced eFoiler looking for an upgrade, SiFly has a board for you, and at a fraction of the price of competitors like Fliteboard. The SiFly brand is tackling the two biggest barriers to efoiling – price and learning curve, with high-quality boards that offer premium features at a fraction of competitors’ prices.

What models are available in the SiFly Efoil 2025 lineup?

The 2025 lineup includes four distinct models catering to different skill levels and riding styles. The SiFly E is their largest composite board, made for beginners and/or heavier riders, with a 300 lb weight capacity. The SiFly Rider Plus is a medium-sized board. The SiFly Stellar S is a carbon fiber board best for intermediate riders wanting some carving capability. The SiFly Stellar X is their most aggressive board, designed for advanced riders who want better agility and performance.

How much do SiFly Efoils cost compared to competitors?

Comparing similar setups between SiFly and Fliteboard, the price difference is substantial. A full carbon fiber SiFly setup costs $9,915 compared to Fliteboard’s $13,495 – a difference of over $3,500. The foam SiFly Rider Plus setup costs just $5,199 versus Fliteboard’s comparable foam setup at $11,465 – a massive $6,266 difference. Despite the price difference, the composite boards are actually manufactured in the same factory as Fliteboard.

What makes SiFly Efoils different from other brands?

During our testing, several features stood out. The quick mount system allows easy assembly without any tools, making setup incredibly fast. The dual-direction wings can be flipped to change your riding experience: point down for more agility or up for a looser feel. The adjustable stabilizers also let you modify the board’s performance as your skills improve. SiFly also manufactures their electronics, batteries, and software in Bulgaria, giving them full control over performance and updates.

How long does the battery last on SiFly Efoils?

We tested the 2,300 Wh battery pack, which is actually larger than Fliteboard’s 2,100 Wh battery. During our testing, this provided plenty of riding time for a full day on the water. The battery charges with a 25 amp charger (capped at 20 amps to extend battery life). At $2,548.75, the SiFly battery is significantly cheaper than Fliteboard’s $3,400 battery while offering more capacity.

Are SiFly Efoils good for beginners?

Based on our hands-on testing, the SiFly E and Rider Plus are excellent for beginners. The E model is incredibly stable, allowing you to start from a kneeling or even standing position. It can be paired with the “easygo” wing attachment that prevents the board from lifting too far out of the water, making the learning process much easier. The Rider Plus with the optional “floaty” attachment also provides excellent stability while being more affordable and virtually indestructible.

What is the build quality like on SiFly Efoils?

We were impressed with the build quality across the entire lineup. The composite boards (E, Stellar S, and Stellar X) are manufactured in the same factory that produces Audi and Fliteboard composite boards, with premium carbon fiber and fiberglass construction. The Rider Plus uses impact-resistant closed cell foam that performs much better than typical inflatable boards.

How does the SiFly app and smart features work?

The SiFly app is surprisingly advanced, allowing you to track ride stats, monitor battery health, and even adjust the acceleration curve to match your riding style. One standout feature we tested was geo-fencing, which lets you set boundaries that trigger speed reduction and audible warnings when crossed, perfect for avoiding shallow areas. The boards can also receive firmware updates via satellite without needing a phone nearby.

Model-by-Model Testing Impressions

SiFly E

We found the E model to be incredibly stable and forgiving. Its large size and 300 lb capacity make it perfect for beginners and heavier riders who want a premium composite board rather than an inflatable. During our testing, even first-time riders were able to get up and riding with infrequent falls.

SiFly Rider Plus

This was our first experience with an all-foam board, and we were also impressed with how it performed compared to inflatable options. The closed-cell foam construction feels solid and indestructible.

SiFly Stellar S

We spent the most time on the Stellar S during our testing. Its balance of stability and agility made it perfect for intermediate riders. The carbon fiber construction felt responsive, and we were able to carve comfortably while maintaining good stability. The quick mount system made setup a breeze when transporting the board from one location to another.

SiFly Stellar X

Despite being the shortest and most aggressive board in the lineup, we were surprised by how accessible the Stellar X was, even for riders in the 200-220 lb range. The “optimal rocker” design helps with quick water release, making it easier to get up and riding than expected. For advanced riders looking to carve aggressively, this board is the one to pick.

The Freshly Charged Take

After extensive testing of the entire SiFly Efoil 2025 lineup, we’re convinced these boards deliver premium performance at a fraction of competitors’ prices. The build quality, innovative features, and riding experience rival boards costing thousands more. For beginners, the E and Rider Plus offer accessible entry points to the sport, while the Stellar S and X provide performance that will thrill even experienced riders.

The standout model for us was the Stellar S, hitting the perfect balance of performance, stability, and value. However, each board in the lineup excels for its intended rider. If you’ve been curious about efoiling but held back by the typically high prices, SiFly has created a convincing alternative.
