How It Started
Five years ago, Seth noticed a gap. Onewheel events were beginning to populate with more frequency across the country, but there was nothing built specifically around EUC riding. Deciding it was his job to fix that, he extended an open invitation to Onewheel riders and hosted the very first Amped Electric Games in Bentonville, Arkansas. Over 80 EUC riders showed up from around the world for the debut, which is a significant turnout for a grassroots idea running on enthusiasm and logistics. Turns out, "if you build it, they will come" was true in this case — the gap Seth filled was something people were looking for.
Andrew was one of the people Seth pitched on the concept back then. At the time, his take was that it sounded amazing, yet might be extremely difficult to pull off. Years later, when asked whether it gets easier, Seth laughs and says it is still challenging but the volunteer base has grown into something special he couldn't do without.
Seth is the person who originally got Andrew into EUCs, letting him learn on his own wheels and absorb the inevitable abuse of a beginner. Without that experience, Andrew says Freshly Charged might not be what it is today, and its the whole reason he wanted to make this video.
What the Event Actually Is
The short answer: Amped Electric Games is the most complete electric riding event in the country. The longer answer involves a lot of moving parts across several days.
The main event runs October 1 through 4 in Bentonville, but Camp Amped kicks off September 28, running through September 30. Camp Amped is a three-day training program run by Joshua Fagernis and Justin Davis, two of the most decorated EUC racers of the current season, and it is open to riders of any skill level.
Racing is the centerpiece, anchored by two primary formats. The flow track is a purpose-built course right on the event grounds. The Thunderdome is a downhill dual slalom presented by Hybrid Donkey, run head-to-head, and Seth describes it as consistently producing the most chaotic and exciting finishes of the weekend. Beyond those two main races, the EU Underground series runs five trail races coordinated through Ride Hermes, which is essentially Strava built specifically for racing, letting riders complete courses on their own schedule.
The event is not just for competitive riders, making it more inclusive. Amped includes relay races, freestyle sessions, bounce in a box, ride the line, jousting, nighttime group rides, live music, and a glow ride. The word "games" is in the name to deliberately signal that inclusivity, and the programming reflects it.
On the hardware side, manufacturers bring their newest wheels to Amped every year, giving attendees access to machines they would otherwise have no way to test before buying. This year, that includes the new Sherman P and the InMotion X1. Big Picture Goals
Seth's goal for Amped goes beyond running a good event once a year. He wants EUC and Onewheel racing recognized as legitimate sport, with athletes who train seriously and compete at a high level receiving the same cultural credibility that other action sports have earned. He also points to something the competitive format does for the machines themselves: top riders pushing limits on the latest hardware and firmware give manufacturers direct performance feedback that influences the direction of development. Racing is not just entertainment — it can also function as a feedback loop.
Andrew adds a layer to the mission that Seth's statistics also surfaced after five years of conversation with 90+ riders across multiple countries. Regardless of language or background, the same thing keeps coming up: riding EUCs and Onewheels changes people's lives in ways that go beyond the ride itself; whether it's benefits to mental and physical health, the sense of achievement that comes with learning a hobby, or embracing more joy and adventure in your life. Getting more people on wheels, at any skill level, is part of the mission.
