Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro Review: The Biggest, Fastest, and Smoothest Kaabo Escooter Ever

Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro Review: The Biggest, Fastest, and Smoothest Kaabo Escooter Ever

by freshlycharged

The Kaabo Wolf King GT is the fastest, heaviest, biggest and most expensive Kaabo electric scooter ever made. The Kaabo Wolf King GT is the newest addition to the Kaabo Electric Scooter family, and it didn’t fail to impress us.

The Kaabo Wolf escooter line has always excited us and now that they have made some much needed upgrades, including adding sine wave controllers, it might be our favorite electric scooter of 2021.

In this review of the Wolf King GT Pro, we will let you know what’s new, what stayed the same, and if you should consider buying or upgrading your Wolf King to the Wolf King GT Pro.

  2. TFT LCD display
  3. Thumb throttle
  4. Dual 2000 watt motors
  5. Taller stem
  6. Wider handlebars
  7. IPX5 water resistance rating
  8. Puncture resistant tires

  13. No button to turn off LED lights

My favorite thing about the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro

My favorite upgrade to the Wolf King GT Pro is they now have sine wave controllers. Sine wave controllers make the Wolf King GT Pro easier to control at lower speed and deliver strong power smoothly to the motors.

The acceleration curve on the new sine wave controllers is way better than the previous Minimotors controllers.

Most scooter controllers use square wave technology, also known as a trapezoidal wave.  Sine-wave creates a more rounded wave that is a lot quieter when ramping up speeds.  Sine wave controllers are also used on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport.

What type of display is on the Wolf King GT Pro?

I am surprised a lot of escooter displays still look like they are from the 1990s. With the Wolf King GT Pro, we can thank the Nami Burn-E for making Kaabo innovate in the display department. The Wolf King GT Pro features a beautiful TFT LCD color display.

The drawback to the new display is that there is no memory of the gear or motor choice you last used. The Kaabo Wolf King GT will always start in gear 0 and single motor each time you turn on the device.

The display has some stunning features, like showing how much power is being delivered to the motors and their temperatures. Just keep your eyes on the road and not on the display while riding!

What type of throttle does the Kaabo Wolf King GT use?

The Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro uses a thumb throttle paired with the TFT LCD display and sine wave controllers. The thumb throttle has a small dead zone, but it’s not that bad.

Many love thumb type throttles. I like thumb throttles, however, I prefer trigger throttles because with gloves on, it is easy to accidentally hit a thumb throttle.

I also find it easier to go up curbs or do wheelies with a trigger throttle because you have your thumb wrapped around the handlebar giving you more security. With a thumb throttle, your most important digit for grip strength is focused on the trigger rather than on holding on the the handlebar when lifting during a jump.

If you don’t do jumps, the thumb throttle shouldn’t be a problem.

What size are the motors on the Wolf King GT Pro?

The Wolf King GT Pro features dual 2000 watt motors with a peak power of 8400 Watts. The previous Wolf King featured dual 1500 watt motors, so the new 2000 watt motors are a 33% increase in size.

How tall is the stem on the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro?

The stem on the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro is now at 39.5 inches from the deck. The previous Wolf King stem height from deck was only 37 inches. The extra 2.5 inches coupled with the wider handlebars make the Kaabo Wolf King GT stabler and more comfortable for tall riders.

How wide are the handlebars on the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro?

The handlebars on the Kaabo Wolf King GT are now 29.5 inches wide. They are 4.5 inches wider than the Wolf King and Wolf Warrior 11+. The extra wide handlebars make the scooter stabler at higher speeds.

You don’t need a steering damper on the Wolf King GT Pro, because the wider handlebars act almost like a steering damper at high speeds.

What is the water resistance rating on the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro?

The Kaabo Wolf King GT has an IPX5 water resistance rating, which means it is protected against low pressure water stream from any angle. The controller in the case mounted on the stem has an IPX6 rating.

I would have liked to see an IPX6 rating for the whole scooter, like we see on the EMOVE Cruiser, but I’m glad the Wolf King GT at least has some water resistance rating.

You should be safe to ride the Wolf King GT in light rain, but you should not use it in moderate or heavy rainfall.

What type of tires are on the Wolf King GT Pro?

You can choose between 11″ by 4″ street or offroad tires for the Wolf King GT Pro. They are the same size as the Wolf King and Wolf Warrior 11+. However, the tires have been upgraded to be puncture resistant.

To make the tires puncture resistant, the tires are lined with a gel that seals up most small punctures.

How big is the battery on the Wolf King GT Pro?

The Wolf King GT features a 72V 35Ah battery. The batteries are either LG M50 or Samsung 50E cells. The Wolf King GT has 25% more battery capacity than the previous Wolf King, which features a 72V 28Ah battery. The Wolf King GT is 2520 watt hours, where the previous Wolf King is 2016 watt hours.

Are the turn signal indicators any good on the Wolf King GT Pro?

The turn signal indicators on the Wolf King GT are the best we have ever seen on any electric scooter. Most turn signal indicators are dim and not high enough.

The rear turn signals are low and have a smoked out appearance. However, the front turn signals on the controller box are higher and can be observed from behind, on the side, and from the front of the escooter.

Are the front forks on the Wolf King GT safe?

When the Kaabo Wolf King came out, there was a ton of excitement around the scooter. However, that excitement was turned to fear when we started to see the front forks break. Kaabo listened to the concerns, and started to forge their forks instead of casting them which makes them much stronger.

Cast metal can fail without showing fatigue or evidence of early failure. With forged forks, you can see if there is a defect in them before they fail. Forged metal forks are much better and safer than cast metal.

Does the Kaabo Wolf King GT have any security features?

The Kaabo Wolf King GT does not have a key ignition. However, there is a feature to add password protection on the display. The password protection is great to prevent thieves from riding away on your scooter or kids taking it for a joy ride.

However, thieves can still pick up or roll away your scooter, so you will want to invest in a good lock if you leave it unattended.

The only new thing that I hate about the Kaabo Wolf Pro GT

There is only one change to the Wolf King GT that I hate, and that is there is no button to turn on and off the deck LED lights. Whenever the front light is on, the deck lights are also on.

The previous models Wolf King and Wolf Warrior 11+ allow you to turn and off the deck LED lights.

When I’m riding at night and have a low battery, I want to turn the deck LED lights off. If I’m on a lighted path and don’t want to blind oncoming pedestrians, I liked the option to have only the deck LED lights on.

I believe the battery takes up all the deck space, that they didn’t have room to add the button to the Wolf King GT Pro.

What’s stayed the same on the Wolf King GT Pro

  1. Gold or black color
  2. Bright headlight
  3. Motorcycle grade suspension
  4. Loud horn
  5. Deck size
  6. Rear suspension
  7. Gold and black color

If you have not ridden the Wolf King, you would think the Wolf King and Wolf King GT Pro appear similar. That is because they have many of the same components and color choices. However, there are some big differences in the Wolf King GT Pro that transform the prior Wolf King from good to great!

What’s the difference between the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro and Pro+ model?

There is only a few differences between the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro and Pro+ model. The biggest difference is that the Pro uses sine wave controllers, and the Pro+ uses Minimotors controllers.

The Minimotors controllers used on the prior Kaabo models can only be paired with the EY3 display, so the Pro+ does not have the TFT LCD display or a thumb throttle. Minimotors controllers use square wave controllers so the acceleration curve is not as smooth as the sine wave controllers.

Should I upgrade from to the Kaabo Wolf King GT?

If money is no issue, I would 100% upgrade from the Wolf King+ to the Wolf King GT. If you are buying the Wolf King GT because you want a higher top speed than the Wolf King, the higher top speed is not that big of a difference. However, if you are buying the Wolf King GT Pro because you want to accelerate faster and smoother, you will be very pleased with the newest Kaabo GT.

To me, there is a night and day difference between the Wolf King+ and Wolf King GT Pro. The sine wave controllers are enough of a reason for me to upgrade. It’s hard to maintain 3 mph on the Wolf King+, while it’s effortless to maintain 3 mph on the Wolf King GT Pro.

With the sine wave controllers and all the added features, you won’t be disappointed upgrading to the Wolf King GT Pro.
