The Mammotion YUKA is the latest robotic lawnmower to catch our eye. We previously reviewed the Segway Navimow and the Luba 2, both higher-cost options with more features. The Mammotion YUKA is great for small-ish lawns that are pretty simple, and it is surprisingly robust and packed with excellent tech. Keep reading for our full review of things we liked and didn’t like about the Mammotion YUKA.

Things I Liked
The App: The YUKA has a great, user-friendly app with tons of features. The Mammotion YUKA costs a lot less than the Luba 2, but you still get the same great technology.
FPV Mode: Both the Luba and the YUKA have an FPV mode, which allows you to see through the camera mounted on the front of the mower, and see what the mower is seeing in real time.
Volume: The YUKA is super quiet, especially compared to traditional gas-powered, or even traditional electric push-lawn mowers. This allows you to mow at night, or at other times when it would usually be impossible to mow.
Randomizes Direction: Some people complained with previous iterations of the Mammotion mowers that they would leave ruts in the grass from always following the same track when mowing. This has been fixed by an app update, so now both the Mammotion YUKA and the Luba 2 randomize the specific direction of mowing each time they go out.
Handle: This is the first robotic lawnmower I have tested out that has a convenient carrying handle.
Self-Emptying Lawn Sweeper Kit: One of the most common questions I get asked about robot lawn mowers is: can it sweep away the grass? With the YUKA, the answer is yes! It has a bagging attachment that fits on the end, and gathers, packs, and unloads the grass onto a specified portion of your yard.
Things I Didn’t Like
Wi-Fi setup: On both the Mammotion Luba 2 and the Mammotion YUKA, the initial setup was somewhat buggy and took a while to get figured out.
No Garage: Unlike the Luba 2, the YUKA doesn’t have a garage that comes with the mower. The garage for my Luba 2 and Segway Navimow help keep it protected from the elements, mostly rain but also the occasional hailstorm. Luckily the mower is waterproof.
Gets Stuck: Sometimes with the grass bag attachment, the YUKA gets stuck. This can be inconvenient, and requires you to go out and physically rescue it.
The Freshly Charged Take
You should definitely consider the Mammotion YUKA if you have a relatively small yard, with not too steep slopes or complicated rocky patches. The YUKA is perfect for most yards, gets the job done, and costs much less than the premium mowers like the Luba 2 or the Segway Navimow. Although it does mow quite slowly, it is completely hands off (once you get it set up and connected to Wi-Fi), and can save you some serious time over the long haul.
