The Ghostcat F4X is an all terrain electric dirt bike constructed with a 20 inch aluminum alloy soft tail frame and a heavy duty suspension system. Power is delivered via a 60V 2200W nominal geared hub motor that generates 160Nm of torque and reaches a peak output of 3300W. This powertrain allows the vehicle to achieve top speeds in excess of 40 mph. The electrical system utilizes a 60V 25Ah battery featuring LG cells which offers an estimated range of 50 miles under pedal assist or up to 35 miles using throttle only operation. Mechanical components include a KKE front fork with 120mm of travel and an adjustable rear shock to manage various surface conditions. Stopping power is provided by four piston hydraulic disc brakes paired with 203mm rotors while 20x4 inch tires provide the necessary contact patch for off road stability. The bike supports a maximum weight capacity of 330 lbs and includes a backlit LCD for monitoring performance metrics.
The Freshly Charged Take
The GHOSTCAT F4X is a 40 mph mini eMoto wearing eBike clothing, and the pedals are there for legal classification purposes rather than actual use. Ride quality is the headline story: the KKE suspension, Maxxis MaxxVenture tires, and power-to-weight ratio combine to produce a genuinely fun and capable machine that does not ride like anything else in the fat tire eBike category. The compromises are real though, including a rear fender that is essentially decorative, battery straps which are an inelegant fix for a mounting design problem, and pedals that will immediately disappoint anyone expecting to use them. GHOSTCAT earns points for US based customer support and for proactively upgrading early adopters at no cost when they improved the controllers. Bottom line: if you want eMoto performance in a package that can legally access bike trails (as of now), this is the most fun way to get there.
