What type of controller is on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX has sine wave controllers.

Sine wave controllers make the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX easier to control at lower speeds and delivers strong power smoothly to the motors.

Most scooter controllers use square wave technology, also known as a trapezoidal wave.  Sine-wave creates a more rounded wave that is a lot quieter when ramping up speeds.  Sine wave controllers are also used on the Bronco Xtreme 11 Sport and Wolf King GT Pro.

What type of brakes are on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

They NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX features Logan 4 piston hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm brake discs.

Nutt and Zoom brakes have two pistons, one on each side of the brake pad. Logan brakes have two pistons on each side of the brake pad, creating strong braking power.

The 4 piston brakes are extremely powerful, so be sure to lean back when stopping so you don’t go over the handlebars.

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX Handle Bars

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX has been upgraded with a 27 inch wide handlebar.

Wider handlebars help increase stability of the BURN-E 2 MAX at high speeds. I’ve seen some people go as wide as 31 inch handlebars, but it makes for a tight squeeze through doorways and high traffic areas.

Does the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX come with a steering damper?

Fluidfreeride includes a free steering damper with all NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX purchases.

I wish that all scooter manufacturers would put a steering damper on any scooter that goes over 30 mph.

One of the most common accidents with high-powered scooters is overcorrecting the steering resulting in speed wobbles. A steering damper prevents overcorrecting, so you can ride safer at higher speeds.

You can adjust the steering damper to be stiff when traveling at high speeds, and you can make it soft when attempting to be more agile and nimble. I like to ride at high speeds, so I have it set to the stiffest setting 99% of the time.

The steering damper does limit your turning radius so if you prefer to ride slow and need to navigate tight turns, you can consider leaving the steering damper off.

What type of suspension is on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX features swing arm suspension with adjustable hydraulic coil suspension.

Adjustable hydraulic coil suspension is amazing, because you can stiffen it up for speed runs and soften it for off-roading. The best part is you don’t need any tools. Simply turn the suspension dial based on the type of riding you will be doing.

The wide handlebars combined with a steering damper create an ultra smooth ride.

What is the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX water resistance rating?

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX has an IP55 water resistance rating. Key components like the display, controllers, and connectors have an IP67 water resistance rating.

I’ve seen many posts of people riding the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX in rain, and I have not seen one water damage post. However, no scooter dealer will cover water damage.

I would advise against riding in wet conditions, because seals tend to break over time, and water can sneak its way into motor hubs and bearings.

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX Stem is Carbon Fiber

The stem on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX is made out of carbon fiber.

This is the first scooter Jimmy and I have reviewed with a carbon fiber stem. Carbon fiber is strong and light, plus it looks sweet!

Most escooter stems are made of cast metal.

Does the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX have any stem wobble?

The locking mechanism on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX is strong and rigid, creating zero stem movement.

I love how simple it is to lock the stem, and the massive collar instills confidence in me that it won’t fold at high speeds. Stems breaking can happen on scooters, so I am glad NAMI made it out of carbon fiber and put a beefy locking mechanism where the stem meets the frame.

How bright is the light on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

The light on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX is 2000 lumens.

Very few scooters have a light bright enough for safe night riding. The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX is the exception. I love how they have mounted the light high on the stem and it is adjustable.

A higher mounted light helps increase the throw of the light. I find most scooters mount lights on the deck, which are awful for dark nights.

The only scooters we’ve reviewed that have a bright enough light for night riding is the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro, VSETT 11+Kaabo Wolf KingKaabo Wolf Warrior, and Currus Panther.

What charger comes with the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

Fluidfreeride is shipping all NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX scooters with a 5 amp charger.

You should be able to charge the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX from empty to full in about 6.5 hours.

Most scooters come with a 2 amp charger or less, so I appreciate that Fluidfreeride included a 5 amp charger with the BURN-E 2 MAX. Less charging means more time riding!

How big is the deck on NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

The deck on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX is 11.5 inches wide and 22 inches long. (29 centimeters wide by 66 centimeters long)

If you count the kick plate, the deck is 31 inches long. (79 centimeters)

I love a huge deck, because it allows you to move your foot placement for extra long rides.

How easy is it to do a tire change on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

Tire changes are never easy with tubeless tires. However, the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX has waterproof motor connectors, which make tire changes less painful.

When performing a tire change on the previous NAMI BURN-E, you had to remove the motor cable from the controller and fish it through the deck. You could also do the tire change by leaving it attached to the controller, but the motor cable had limited slack, so it was painful to do it this way.

With the waterproof motor connectors on the NAMI BURN-E 2, simply disconnect the motor to make the tire change way less painful.

What type of frame does the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX use?

The frame on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX is made of welded aluminum tubes.

Most escooter frames are made out of cast metal or stamped aluminum. Welded aluminum tubes are much stronger than cast metal or stamped aluminum.

The welded frame on the NAMI BURN-E is the strongest we have seen, and it adds to the unique look.

Things I hate

  • Nylon tires
  • Dead zone on thumb throttle
  • Slight shaking at higher speeds
  • Suspension needs to be improved for heavier riders
  • Loss of clearance from the kickstand positioning
  • Display gets washed out in direct sunlight
  • Display can get scratched when scooter is folded

What type of tires are on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX features 11 inch by 4 inch wide nylon tires.

The nylon tires work fine, but they create a slight shaking at speeds above 50mph. I asked the NAMI Facebook group for solutions to the slight shaking, and most people responded telling me to upgrade to PMT tires.

At first, I thought they were full of it. However, once I upgraded to PMT tires, the scooter now rides smooth as butter at high speeds.

In the future, I would like to see scooter manufacturers put PMT tires on their high performance scooters.

What type of throttle is on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX?

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX features a thumb throttle.

The thumb throttle has a dead zone, so it won’t engage until it is about 1/3 pressed down. You get used to the dead zone over time, but I would have preferred a more responsive throttle.

However, if you ride like me, the dead zone is not an issue if you are mashing down on the throttle for most of your ride.

Is the suspension on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX strong enough for heavy riders?

The suspension on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX is strong enough for street riding.

However, if you plan on riding the BURN-E 2 MAX off jumps or off big curbs, you will want to upgrade the suspension if you are a heavier rider. I currently weigh 200 lbs and 220 lbs with all my gear on.

When I ride normal, I am fine. However, when I go off big curbs or bunny hop the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX, it tends to scrape the bottom of the kickstand.

The kickstand sits about 1.5 inches lower than the frame. If I removed the kickstand, I most likely would not bottom out the scooter. However, replacing the suspension with a higher rated weight capacity is the best thing to do.

Can you see the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX display in direct sunlight?

The display on the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX gets washed out in direct sunlight, making it hard to read.

You can still read the display, but it is not as bright as the display on the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro.

NAMI BURN E 2 MAX scratched display

Does the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX lock when folded?

The NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX does not lock when folded.

The scooter is not very portable, so you may want to rethink the NAMI BURN-E 2 MAX if you have to lug it up and down stairs.

NAMI BURN E 2 MAX Folded

Another issue with the scooter not locking when folded is that the handlebars swing side to side after folding and the display comes precariously close to rubbing on the metal kick plate running the risk of scratching the glass display.

I tried to cover the display with a microfiber cloth to protect it. However, the scooter shifted while driving, so my microfiber cloth fell off, and the display scratched. A glove or sock would do a better job staying on and protecting the screen.
