What type of motor is on the Bikonit Warthog MD 750?
The Warthog MD 750 features a Bafang G510 750 watt ultra mid drive motor. Mid drive motors use torque sensors, which are far superior to cadence sensors. Torque sensors measure the pressure you put on the pedals, and provide power accordingly, while cadence sensors measure how many revolutions the pedals go around before turning on the peddle assist. What type of brakes are on the Bikonit Warthog MD 750?
The Warthog MD 750 features Tektro HD-725 4 piston hydraulic brakes. Most ebikes use 2 piston brakes, which work fine, but 4 piston brakes offer ultimate stopping power especially if you are a larger rider or will be transporting heavy gear. Instead of one piston pushing the brake pad from each side, you have two pistons pushing the brake pad from each side.Does the Bikonit Warthog MD 750 have a throttle?
One of my favorite features on the Bikonit Warthog MD 750 is the throttle. The Mod Berlin, Mod Black, and Trek Rail 7 are also all mid drive motor ebikes but none of them have throttles. The Bikonit Warthog MD ebikes are the only mid drive motor ebikes we have reviewed that features a throttle. I love having the option to throttle, especially when I don’t feel like peddling. If you are hunting or camping or exploring and have gear to transport, a throttle is hugely beneficial. How big are the tires on the Bikonit Warthog MD 750?
The Bikonit Warthog MD 750 features massive 26″ x 4.5”Kenda Juggernaut tires. These are the biggest tires on an ebike that Jimmy and I have ever reviewed. They are perfect for the backcountry because you never know what’s around the corner. What type of shifter and deraileur are on the Bikonit Warthog MD 750?
The Bikonit Warthog MD 750 features a Sram X-5 9 speed trigger shifter and derailleur. A lot of ebikes use Sun Race or cheap Shimano shifters. The Sram X-5 isn’t the best, but it’s a high quality shifter. The Bikonit Warthog has a great display
The Warthog MD 750 features a large and beautiful Bafang color display. The display is easy to see in direct sunlight and is user friendly. I prefer the Bafang display over the black and white display on the Mod Easy. What type of suspension is on the Bikonit Warthog MD 750?
The Warthog MD 750 features front air suspension with 120mm of travel. The suspension is nice and plush helping you roll over small rocks and roots. However, be careful of massive rocks and overconfidence that may come from riding such a powerful ebike. While the Warthog is an all terrain beast, it has its limits and if you aren’t careful you can still end up on your side like I did.Is the light on the Warthog MD 750 bright enough for safe night riding?
The light on the Warthog MD 750 is small and compact, but it packs a punch. For being tiny, I didn’t expect much from the light, but I was pleasantly surprised how bright it is at night. The light is bright enough for safe night riding.A kickstand fit for a king
There’s nothing worse than spending a ton of money on an ebike, and having a kickstand that sucks. The kickstand on the Bikonit Warthog MD 750 is beefy, rugged, and works well at keeping the heavy bike upright. What type of batteries are in the Bikonit Warthog MD 750?
The Bikonit Warthog MD 750 features LG Chem 21700 Battery Cells. Quality battery cells made by a reputable company like LG have less failure rate and last longer. 21700 cells also have more capacity than 18650 cells. - One size
- No rear or seat suspension
- Heavy
- No gun rack accessory
Does the Bikonit Warthog MD come in multiple sizes?
Unfortunately, the Bikonit Warthog MD 750 only comes in one size. I’m 6 feet tall and the Warthog MD 750 is almost too tall for me. If you are a shorter rider, you may have issues mounting and dismounting the bike. If you are vertically challenged, you can always lean the Warthog MD 750 to mount it, but if you have to stop quickly, it could be unstable for shorter riders.Be prepared for a bumpy ride
The Bikonit is designed to be used in the great outdoors and on all terrains. However, the lack of rear or seat suspension can make it a bumpy ride when crawling over rocks and roots. You can always upgrade to a seat suspension to make it a more comfortable ride. How heavy is the Bikonit Warthog MD 750?
The Bikonit Warthog MD 750 is 70 lbs without batteries. Each LG battery is 48V 15Ah and weighs 8.62 lbs each. If you have two batteries in it, the bike weighs 87.24 lbs. At 87 lbs, the bike is the second heaviest ebike we have reviewed, behind the Ariel Rider Grizzly. Most bike carriers have a 50 lb limit, so you will want to use a special carrier when transporting the Warthog MD 750. I like to use a dirtbike hitch carrier when transporting the Warthog MD 750.What’s a hunting ebike without a gun carrier?
You can buy all sorts or accessories for the Bikonit Warthog MD 750. There’s pannier bags, covers, racks, and fenders. But the Warthog MD 750 is missing two important accessories, a gun carrier or bow mount. For being a hunting specific ebike, I would love to see a custom carrier for your hunting tool of choice. You can always sling your bow or gun over your shoulder, but it would have been nice to have a custom mount for them.Final Thoughts on the Ebikonit Warthog
If you are a hunter and have the latest and greatest tech, why would you not want a hunting ebike? You become more efficient with an ebike, and you won’t frighten away wildlife like a combustible engine would. If you happen to get injured in the backcountry, hiking out can be next to impossible. Since the Bikonit Warthog MD 750 has a throttle, an injured person can hop on the bike and throttle himself out of the backcountry. Overall, you will spend more time hunting and enjoying the wilderness when you have a hunting ebike. Please support us
