Best Budget EUC?

Looking for the best budget electric unicycle (EUC)? We compare the Begode Mten4 and King Song KS-14D—both great last-mile commuter choices. While the Mten4 is ultra-portable and off-road capable, the KS-14D wins with superior build, features, and safety. For affordable EUC reliability, the King Song KS-14D is our top pick.

What is the best budget EUC? While we usually recommend learning to ride an EUC using a larger wheel (16-inch wheels are the easiest to start, in our opinion), sometimes you can’t afford the larger wheels and just need a trusty last-mile commuter. In this article we’ll compare two of the best-selling models in this category: the Begode Mten4 (successor to the hugely popular Mten3) and the King Song KS-14D.

The Mten4 is certainly a weird-looking wheel, but it packs a punch. The 1000W motor paired with the relatively small 11-inch tires gives it a ton of torque, plus the knobby tire makes it a great beginner off-roading wheel. While the Mten4 has impressive top speed of 25mph, we wouldn’t recommend actually riding above 20mph. It’s ultra portable, can fit in a large backpack, and would make a great addition for EUC enthusiasts and those looking to add another EUC to their collection. There are quite a few missing features that we would have liked to see, such as a kill switch, trolley handle, easier-to-read display and a brighter front light. However, for $849 it’s an impressive package.

King Song KS-14D

Features we love on the 14D include the trolley handle, built-in speakers, and the conveniently located kill switch. The 14-inch wheel is also great for handling semi-rough terrain and potholes, but we wouldn’t recommend taking this wheel fully off-road due to the large, low-to-the-ground pedals that impact maneuverability. The King Song app isn’t great, and we recommend DarknessBot or EUC world. Overall, it’s a great, feature-laden, affordably priced wheel.

The Best Budget EUC: King Song KS-14D

The Mten4, despite boasting impressive stats, doesn’t quite feel sturdy enough to handle its powerful 1000W motor. The King Song, on the other hand, seems like a safer, well-built, better-rounded wheel (no pun intended). If we had to pick one, we’d hang onto the King Song 14D.

EUC Comparison Tool

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the EUC options, so we made an interactive EUC Comparison Tool. You can sort, filter, and include or exclude data as you see fit. I hope you find this tool helpful!
