The Begode Race is the most recently announced electric unicycle from Begode. Per Begode employees and test riders, this wheel has been in production for quite a long time, maybe as long as two years. So what is it about this wheel that is so special?

As its name implies, the Begode Race is a racing wheel–its meant for high speed, track performance. Its running a 210v 50s battery system of 3800wh, which will allow for high power draw over a full day at the track. This will also be an amazing generalist wheel though. 3800wh is more than most people will need in a day, and unlike many other unicycles with large batteries, the Begode Race is still fairly light at 101 pounds and, based on reports from early riders, quite nimble for its its size.

Because of this combination of high power, big batteries, and relatively lower weight, we at freshly charged are inclined to call this a jack-of-all-trades kind of wheel, and still potentially master of the track, though that remains to be seen. The power is certainly there with the 5000w motor, but motor power isn’t everything, as a larger motor often requires more initial effort from the rider to get it going, resulting in a sluggish start, although early testers have reported the Race as matching the instant torque of the Blitz and Panther.
In its design, the Race clearly follows the aesthetic of the Blitz, X-way, and Panther. This is a great looking design, so we’re okay with Begode copying the style, although we do hope to see a more ergonomic viewing angle for the LED screen (as its a bit of an awkward angle on the Blitz) and also hope that Begode will give riders more freedom in adjusting the built-in LEDs. It is worth noting that the battery boxes on the Race appear to follow the design of the EX30, where they are closer to the ground and also extend further towards the front and back of the wheel. On the EX30 this could become an issue when offroading or taking large staircases while running lower suspension pressures, as the battery boxes could clip. However, the Race is running a new bidirectional damping suspension system that is more robust than the air suspension on the EX30, so we don’t expect this to be an issue.
The Race also isn’t lacking in features. It is running a sem-hot tubeless tire for high street performance, comes with what appear to be quite respectable pads with pre-installed velcro and a smart BMS. It also supports 20amp fast charging and a water resistance rating of IP67.

Overall the Race looks to have all the specs one could want in an EUC, and at under 3000 USD also provides much more value than any other high performance wheel at the moment. While the Leaperkim Oryx may take the cake for long range cruiser, and Inmotion may be cooking up something with the P6, the Begode Race is likely the best choice for most riders in 2025 with its insane performance and wildly low price.
