If your mornings involve navigating a minefield of spilled juice, sticky syrup, and other breakfast casualties courtesy of a toddler, you know the struggle is real. Today I put two budget-friendly wet dry vacuums from Dreame – the G10 Pro and the G10 Combo – to the ultimate test here in my kitchen. A real-world showdown against the stickiest, messiest stuff imaginable. Both products claim to vacuum and mop simultaneously, but how do they hold up?

What are the Dreame G10 Pro and G10 Combo?

These are entry-level wet dry vacuums designed to clean up both wet spills and dry messes on hard floors. The main idea is to combine vacuuming and mopping into one step, saving you time and effort, especially with sticky messes that traditional vacuums can’t handle.

How are the Dreame G10 Pro and G10 Combo different?

The key difference lies in their special features and intended use. The G10 Pro advertises dual edge-to-edge cleaning, meaning its roller brush cleans right up against baseboards on both sides. It has about a 35-minute runtime. The G10 Combo offers a versatile 2-in-1 design; the main motor unit detaches to become a handheld/stick vacuum for dry messes on carpets, stairs, or furniture. It also has a longer runtime at around 50 minutes but only cleans effectively along one edge in its wet/dry mode.

How well does the Dreame G10 Pro clean wet and sticky messes?

Honestly, I was blown away. I threw everything at both of them: orange juice, thick syrup, hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, and coffee grounds. Both the G10 Pro and G10 Combo steamrolled through the messes, usually cleaning them up completely in just one or two passes. It even handled mixtures of syrup and condiments, leaving the floor completely clean, without a hint of stickiness.

Can the Dreame G10 Pro clean right up to the edges?

The G10 Pro really shines here: its dual edge-to-edge cleaning worked impressively well in my tests along baseboards, getting almost everything except for tiny bits in the absolute tightest corners or under baseboard gaps. The G10 Combo, lacking the dual-edge feature, leaves a small gap along one side.

Is the Dreame G10 Pro easy to maintain?

Yes, remarkably so. This was a huge plus for me compared to older wet/dry vacuums. After cleaning, you just place the unit back on its base and press the self-cleaning button. It rinses the roller brush automatically. Emptying the dirty water tank is also simple – just dump it in the toilet, give it a quick rinse, and pop it back in. You do need to refill the clean water tank occasionally, but overall maintenance is minimal.

What’s the battery life and charge time?

You get about 35 minutes with the G10 Pro and 50 minutes with the G10 Combo. Recharging takes around 3 hours for both. This runtime is fine for smaller cleanups or smaller homes, but likely won’t cover a very large house in one go.

Can The Dreame G10 Pro & Combo handle carpets?

The G10 Combo is the clear winner here. Its ability to convert into a handheld dry vacuum makes it suitable for carpets and area rugs. I did find it would shut off on very high-pile carpets due to resistance. The G10 Pro can vacuum dry carpets, but you need to wait about an hour for the wet roller to dry first, which isn’t very practical.

Hands-On Testing: Kitchen Chaos Showdown

In the kitchen, both vacuums handled everything from sticky syrup to scattered coffee grounds with no sweat. The Dreame G10 Pro’s edge cleaning was especially impressive along the wall where my son usually creates a sticky disaster zone. Converting the G10 Combo to handheld mode was quick and easy for tackling dry crumbs on a nearby rug. The self-cleaning function worked well, leaving the roller quickly ready for the next room or mess.

Pros and Cons Based on My Testing

Pros:

  • Excellent cleaning performance on tough wet/sticky messes
  • Saves time by vacuuming and mopping simultaneously
  • Very easy to use and maintain (self-cleaning, simple tanks)
  • Great value at a budget-friendly price ($299-$399)
  • G10 Pro: Impressive dual edge-to-edge cleaning
  • G10 Combo: Versatile 2-in-1 design for mixed flooring
  • Relatively quiet operation

Cons:

  • Water tanks could be larger (especially for turbo mode)
  • Limited run time isn’t ideal for very large homes
  • Self-cleaning requires over 20% battery charge
  • Can struggle with very large particles (like pancake chunks)
  • G10 Combo handheld may shut off on high-pile carpets

The Freshly Charged Take

For the price, the Dreame G10 Pro and G10 Combo are fantastic entry-level wet dry vacuums. They genuinely make cleaning up sticky, everyday messes significantly faster and easier. If your home has mostly hard floors and edge cleaning is a priority, the G10 Pro is an excellent choice. If you have a mix of hard floors and carpets/rugs and need that extra versatility (plus longer runtime), the G10 Combo is the way to go. Neither is designed for deep cleaning massive homes, but for quick cleanups, tackling spills, and maintaining sanity in a busy household with kids, they are incredibly convenient and effective tools.
