The Dualtron Forever, in addition to being the cheapest 40mph+ Dualtron scooter ever made, is surprisingly lightweight. It weighs only 54 lbs, which roughly the same as a Segway Ninebot Max G2. Insane.
The major drawback to this scooter (and the main culprit of the reduced price and low weight) is the tiny 60V 18.2Ah battery. My own Rovoron Kullter Luxury, which is a similar-looking, similar top speed scooter made by Dualtron, sports a 60V 31.5Ah battery and I only get around 28 reliable miles of range when riding at full speed. So you can expect a real-world range of less than 20 miles if you are riding hard. Keep reading for our full list of things we liked and didn’t like about this scooter!

What We Love About The Dualtron Forever
Handling: The Dualtron Forever is great at carving, and has a super smooth riding experience very similar to the Rovoron Kullter Luxury. The street tires get a ton of grip, and in addition to providing great braking power, they stick to the road and allow you to turn sharply without losing control.
Kickplate: Many folding scooters have some sort of a latch near the kick plate that allows the stem to lock in place when you fold the scooter. However, usually the latch is right where you would otherwise put your foot, making it uncomfortable to ride. The Dualtron Forever solves this issue by hiding the latch inside of an indentation in the kick plate, so you won’t even notice it when moving your feet around the deck.
The kick plate is also nicely tapered, and isn’t too sharply angled like some other scooters we’ve seen.
Brakes: Although the Dualtron Forever doesn’t have hydraulic brakes, the brakes work surprisingly well. If there are future editions of this scooter we would like to see hydraulic brakes as an optional add-on for extra cost.
Suspension: The suspension is nicely tuned for street riding. Great for jumping curbs and handling potholes and cracks. It’s probably little too loose for serious off-road riding, but that’s not what this scooter is built for.
Speed / Weight Ratio: This scooter has an insane speed to weight ratio. With a 40 mph top speed and 54 lb weight, that’s 0.74 mph/lb ratio. Here is a comparison with other scooters:
- Segway GT1: 0.33 mph/lb (34 mph, 105 lbs)
- Inmotion RS: 0.49 mph/lb (63 mph, 128 lbs)
- Emove Cruiser: 0.51 mph/lb (31 mph, 59 lbs)
- Rovoron Kullter Luxury: 0.66 mph/lb (45 mph, 68 lbs)
Folding Handlebars: In addition to the astonishingly low weight, the handlebars fold down for added portability. This scooter should fit in the trunk of basically any vehicle (maybe not a Mazda Miata) with some room to spare.
Display: The display has gotten a major upgrade from the EY3 displays that Dualtron has been using since inception. This display is larger, brighter, and has added color and improved graphics.
Deck: The deck is larger than most scooter decks, especially for scooters at this low price point and low weight. There is plenty of room for your feet, and the silicone cover gives it a nice fit & finish. It’s also nice that they have included two charge ports.
Lighting: The Dualtron Forever has especially light turning signals and brake lights, that are easily visible from in front or behind the scooter even in broad daylight. This inspires confidence when you are sharing the road with cars, who might not be looking closely for a turning signal on a stand-up electric scooter.
Things We Don’t Like
Stem: As is the issue with many single-stem scooters, there is some back-and-forth play in the stem. It also doesn’t feel nearly as solid as other single-stem scooters like the Emove Cruiser V2. It could be that some of the weight reductions on the Forever have affected this, like making the stem out of a lighter, more flexible material. There also is no redundancy in the folding mechanism, meaning if it brakes or comes loose, the stem could come down while riding.
Lights: Although we praised the turning signals and brake lights, the headlight won’t do you much good if you are trying to ride fast at night with no other street lights. It is seriously underpowered, especially for a 40 mph scooter.
Acceleration: Although it did reach its advertised top speed, it took a long time to get there, nearly a quarter mile. It would be nice to see some more zippy bottom-end torque.
Battery: The battery is… pretty small. As we mentioned in the intro, you won’t get more than 20 miles of range if you are in the highest speed setting. Be sure to carry your charger with you to charge on the go, and consider getting a fast charger (5A or more) if you want to add meaningful range during quick stops.
Fender: The plastic fenders, especially the rear, feel cheap and rattles a good deal. There is also a rear “reflector” sticker that feels and looks very cheap.
The Freshly Charged Take
Overall, we are thrilled that Dualtron has made a scooter that reaches 40 mph, while keeping the price under $1500. You’re not going to find a more capable scooter at this price point among the leading scooter brands. If you love the sound and feel of a Dualtron scooter and you want a scooter that’s as portable as it gets, the Dualtron Forever is for you.
