The addition of a reverse feature is a thoughtful touch, making parking and maneuvering a breeze.

Effortless Parking Brake:

Engaging the emergency brake is straightforward and reliable, ensuring safety when needed. My friend’s mom with Arthritis rode the Lectric XP Trike and she had trouble engaging the parking brake because it needed a lot of force. The RadTrike parking brake is a lot easier to engage plus the coaster brakes make it nice if you have grip strength issues.

Efficient Packaging and Assembly:

The RadTrike was packaged well and had zero damage from delivery. We thought there was going to be a lot of assembly required since the trike was packaged in such a small package but surprisingly the assembly process was a breeze.

Metal Fenders:

The inclusion of metal fenders adds durability and protection from splashes, enhancing the overall riding experience. Most RadPower bikes use plastic fenders so it was nice to see them moving towards metal fenders.

Seamless Accessory Compatibility:

The RadTrike seamlessly accommodates a variety of accessories, allowing riders to personalize their experience. We ordered the trailer and pet tent and were able to assemble them in just a few minutes.

Inclusive Sizing:

With an accommodating height range from 4’10” to 6’4″, the RadTrike caters to a broad spectrum of riders.

Low Stepover Height:

The low stepover height simplifies mounting and dismounting, making it more accessible for individuals with mobility limitations. However, there is not a lot of clearance on the bottom of the RadTrike.

High Torque Motor:

The high-torque planetary geared motor provides ample power for a smooth and enjoyable ride.

What could be improved on the RadPower RadTrike?

A hydraulic brake would be nice
Low pedal assist levels don’t work well
Cable management could be improved
The front light is not that bright
Would be nice if a basket was included
The display is lackluster
More expensive than the Lectric Trike
The battery is small for the price

Hydraulic Brake Upgrade:

Upgrading to hydraulic brakes would enhance the stopping power and overall safety of the RadTrike. You can upgrade the front brake for under $100 but it would have only been an extra $20 for RadPower to implement it in the design.

Pedal Assist Levels:

I found that the lower pedal assist levels were not powerful enough. The RadTrike is pretty heavy and it is hard to get it moving when you are in the lower pedal assist levels.

Cable Management:

Better cable management would contribute to a tidier and more aesthetically pleasing design. The neoprene sleeve makes it easier for maintenance but I don’t like the look of it. A nice tight cable wrap would really clean up the look on the front so it didn’t look like a spaghetti of wires.

Brighter Front Light:

A brighter front light would improve visibility during night rides. Most ebike lights are not super bright but I would like for companies to spend a little bit more on brighter lights for safer night riding.

Inclusion of a Basket:

Including a basket as a standard accessory would be a convenient addition for carrying personal items or groceries. The Lectric XP Trike comes with a front and rear basket at a lower price. However, the balance on the RadTrike is overall better.

Display Enhancements:

The RadTrike doesn’t have a display that shows your speed. You can only see what pedal assist level you are in and it looks really dated. I would like for RadPower to make a nice crisp color display for their bikes.

Competitive Pricing:

While the RadTrike offers numerous advantages, it is more expensive than some of its competitors, such as the Lectric XP Trike.

Battery Capacity:

The RadTrike only comes with a 48V 10Ah battery. You can always buy the RadPower 14Ah battery and swap it out. However, I would like RadPower to give people the option to upgrade to the larger battery when purchasing the bike so we don’t end up with unnecessary batteries in the landfill.
