Updates from the Original Lectric XPedition

Grips: The handlebar grips on the old XPedition would slide around on the handlebar, but the new grips lock in place. They are also made with a softer rubber which makes for a slightly more comfortable riding experience.

Control Module: The control module has also been updated. The XPedition 2.0 now has 4 buttons, and the module looks similar to some of the recent Aventon bikes.

Throttle: The twist throttle has been updated to a thumb throttle, located on the left side directly under the control module.

Shifter: The Shimano Tourney shifter has been replaced with a thumb-and-trigger shifter on the right side handlebar.

Torque Sensor: One of the biggest upgrades on the 2.0 version of the Lectric XPedition is from a cadence sensor to a torque sensor. The torque sensor gives you a much more natural riding feeling rather than a unwieldy surge of power. Torque sensors also don't have "runoff" - after you have stopped pedaling on a cadence sensor bike, typically the motor keeps providing power for a second or two.

Brake Light: The previous XPedition had a tail light, but it didn't function as a brake light. The 2.0 version features a tail light that automatically activates when braking, and also has turning signals.

Derailleur: The Shimano Tourney derailleur has finally been updated to an 8-speed Shimano Altus derailleur.

Longer Frame: The Lectric XPedition 2.0 features an even longer frame than the original, and yet somehow the bike feels more nimble and maneuverable despite the added length.

Tires: The tires have changed from 3 inches to 2.5 inches, which makes the bike feel even more natural and easy to ride.

Display: Lectric finally heard our plea and added a color display to the XPedition. It looks fantastic, and stands out in the sunlight.

Suspension: The front suspension is also a new feature on the Lectric XPedition 2.0. The original XPedition, without suspension, felt a little jarring to ride on bumpy roads and over uneven terrain. The 50mm of travel on the 2.0 model is perfect, and greatly improves ride quality and comfort.

Room For Improvement

Front Light: The headlight is big, but not very bright. It casts a narrow beam, and definitely isn't suitable for night riding. It also rattles against the front fender when riding.

Kickstand: The overall design of the kickstand is good: it is more than sufficient to hold the bike up, even on a slope. However, it requires a lot of force to engage/disengage, which makes it hard to hop off and on the bike quickly.
