The Wired Viper is an exceptionally high-performance 20x4 fat tire eBike that blurs the line between a traditional bicycle and an electric motorcycle. Featuring massive 72V 35Ah batteries and a dual-motor system capable of an 8,000W peak output, this "compact monster" can reach speeds of over 55 mph with acceleration so aggressive it can easily trigger wheelies. Despite its raw power, the bike offers a premium and stable ride thanks to high-end components like an Exsho Cowboy dual crown fork, 4-piston hydraulic brakes, and a highly customizable display that allows riders to tame the motor behavior. While it is likely too heavy and "unhinged" for beginners or casual commuters, the Viper stands out as a top-tier choice for adrenaline seekers who want maximum torque and long-range performance in a smaller, step-through frame.

What Is the Wired Viper?
The Wired Viper is essentially what happens when Wired’s Predator has a baby with a 20×4 compact fat tire eBike. It combines the smaller wheel size and step-through feel of compact eBikes with the brutal dual-motor power Wired is known for.
What’s wild is just how much power Wired managed to cram into this platform. On paper it already sounds crazy, but once you ride it, it’s borderline unbelievable that a bike this size can move this fast.
Performance: Absolutely Unhinged (In a Good Way)
Let’s not dance around it; the power is the headline here.
We hit 55+ mph on GPS, and the acceleration to get there is violent in the higher pedal assist levels. Pedal assist 9 is not something you casually mash unless you’re ready for it. The rear wheel will put you straight into a wheelie, and the front wheel will unload, spin, and roast the tire if you’re not careful.
That said, Wired did a great job with tuning options:
- You can soften the front and rear motor’s start strength independently
- Adjust throttle follow behavior
- Limit throttle by pedal assist level
- Dial the bike all the way down to tame, controlled power
- Adjust all PWM levels to your riding style
At lower assist levels, the Viper is surprisingly manageable and smooth. At higher levels, it’s pure chaos...the fun kind.
Dual Motor Setup & Hill Climbing
With dual motors engaged, the Viper absolutely demolishes hills. Steep climbs that stop most eBikes cold are handled effortlessly, even with minimal pedal input.
You can also toggle:
- Front motor only
- Rear motor only
- Dual motor
Rear motor only is great for efficiency. Front motor can help in slippery conditions. Dual motor is… well, dual motor.
Ride Quality & Suspension
For a bike capable of these speeds, stability matters, and Wired didn’t cheap out here.
- Exsho Cowboy Dual crown front fork with adjustable compression
- DNM rear air shock with lockout
- Hellbender headset (huge upgrade for high-speed stability)
The suspension is plush, controlled, and confidence-inspiring. No speed wobbles, no sketchy flex, and it remains composed even when riding aggressively.
Braking & Safety
Stopping power is excellent.
The 220mm 4-piston hydraulic brakes have no problem hauling the Viper down from high speeds. We had zero issues with brake fade or lack of bite, even during repeated hard stops.
The inclusion of front and rear turn signals is also a big win, especially on a bike that realistically mixes with traffic at higher speeds.
Tires & Contact Points
The 20×4 CoolRide tires are some of the best we’ve tested on a fat tire eBike:
- Soft compound
- Excellent on-road grip
- Hybrid tread works well off-road and on smooth pavement
- Same tires as Allscape, which is the private-labeled version of the CoolRide tires
They don’t feel like the hard, plasticky fat tires you find on a lot of other bikes in this category.
Battery & Range
This is one of the biggest batteries we’ve seen on an eBike that isn’t an e-moto.
- 72V 35Ah total capacity
- 2520Wh
- High-discharge Samsung 50S cells
If you ride this bike hard all the time, you’ll drain it faster, but if you tame it down, long-distance rides are absolutely on the table.
Both batteries are removable and can be charged externally.
Display, Menu & Customization
The TFT display is bright, readable in sunlight, and works with polarized sunglasses.
More importantly, the menu system is excellent:
- No confusing P-settings
- Clear labeling
- Easy on-bike tuning
- No app required
You can adjust nearly everything, like motor behavior, assist levels, throttle behavior, security password, and more, all from the display.
What We Love
- Insane dual-motor power in a compact form
- Massive 72V battery system
- Excellent suspension and stability at speed
- Strong 4-piston Gamma brakes
- High-quality components throughout
- Fully customizable power delivery
- Front and rear turn signals
- US-based customer support
- Bright front headlight with adjustable angle
What Could Be Improved
- The horn needs to be motorcycle-grade
- Pedal height on the prototype was too low (being addressed)
- The bike is heavy and not for casual riders
- Motors are loud at high speeds
- Some cable management could be cleaner
- No Bluetooth app (not a deal-breaker for us)
Who the Wired Viper Is For
The Wired Viper is for riders who:
- Want the most powerful 20×4 fat tire eBike available
- Love speed, torque, and adrenaline
- Appreciate deep customization and tuning
- Want premium components and long range
This is not the bike for:
- Beginners
- Riders wanting a lightweight commuter
- Anyone uncomfortable with extreme power
Wired Viper vs Wired Predator
At first glance, the Wired Predator and the Wired Viper seem very similar; both are dual-motor, 72V monsters designed for riders who want serious performance. But in real-world use, they feel very different.
Choose the Wired Viper if you want:
- The most aggressive acceleration Wired offers
- A smaller, more compact 20×4 platform
- Easier maneuverability at lower speeds
- A bike that feels borderline e-moto in behavior
- Maximum thrill factor in the smallest footprint possible
The Viper feels raw, compact, and almost unhinged when pushed. It’s the bike you buy if acceleration makes you smile more than top speed numbers.
Choose the Wired Predator if you want:
- A larger, more planted full-size ride
- Better high-speed composure over long distances
- A more relaxed cockpit and riding position
- Less twitchiness at speed
- A bike that still rips, but feels more “grown up”
The Predator feels more stable and confidence-inspiring at sustained high speeds, especially for taller riders or those planning longer rides.
Quick summary:
Viper = compact chaos
Predator = big, planted power cruiser
Neither is “better,” they’re just built for different riders.
What If You Don’t Need Insane Acceleration?
If raw, tire-roasting acceleration isn’t your priority, Wired has two excellent alternatives that still deliver serious power without the insanity.
- Wired Scout
- Wired Warrior
Both the Scout and Warrior run 72V systems, offer strong hill climbing, and feel fast, but they’re far more approachable for riders who want power without constant wheel spin.
Why choose Scout or Warrior instead?
- More predictable throttle response
- Better for longer rides and daily use
- Less aggressive front-end behavior
- Easier learning curve
If you want power you can use all the time, not just power that scares you a little, the Scout and Warrior are fantastic choices.
The Viper exists for riders who specifically want maximum acceleration and dual-motor madness, not just speed.
Final Thoughts
The Wired Viper is ridiculous...and that’s exactly the point.
It’s one of the most powerful eBikes we’ve ever tested, especially in a 20×4 platform. Wired clearly focused on performance, safety, and component quality rather than just chasing spec-sheet numbers.
If you want a bike that blurs the line between eBike and e-moto and you’re ready to respect the power, the Wired Viper is an absolute beast.
