In this 2-part review I’ll go through all 10 currently available Ausom electric scooters. It’s a great lineup, with a variety of specs and features for different kinds of riders. All of the scooters are decently priced relative to the competition, but some certainly stand out more than others. Part 1 will cover their 4 single motor models, and part 2 will cover their 6 dual motor models.

Commonalities Between All Ausom Electric Scooters
All of Ausom’s scooters have an IP54 water-resistance rating, which has become the industry standard for name-brand electric scooters. They also all feature front and rear swing-arm suspension, including some of the lower priced scooters under $500, which is rare. All of the scooters feature an LCD display, fold down for easy storage and portability, and have NFC card-reader functionality. Now for the specifics.
Ausom GX1 – $499

- Top Speed: 15.5 mph
- Battery Size: 48V, 15.6Ah (749 Wh)
- Tire Size: 8.5″ pneumatic
- Motor(s): 500W (single motor)
- Range (claimed): 50 miles
- Weight: 50 lbs
The Ausom GX1 is kind of an oddball – it has a low top speed of 15.5 mph, but features dual swing-arm suspension and is built like a much faster commuter scooter. I don’t know of a single other scooter in that specific category. The VSETT 8 and VSETT 9 are comparable in features, suspension, design, and overall build quality, have the same water rating (IP54), but are roughly double the price and have a 25-32mph top speed. Besides that, there really isn’t anything to compare with the Ausom GX1. Basically, this scooter is great if you want a great overall scooter but have no desire to go faster than rental-scooter pace.

Ausom L1 – $599

- Top Speed: 28 mph
- Battery Size: 48V, 15.6Ah (749 Wh)
- Tire Size: 10″ pneumatic
- Motor(s): 800W (single motor)
- Range (claimed): 50 miles
- Weight: 62 lbs
The scooter I’d compare this one to is the Joyor S5, which is a 31mph full-suspension scooter sold on Amazon and a few other online retailers that is becoming increasingly popular due to its decent build quality and low price ($749). You know what’s even cheaper than the Joyor S5 and also has US-based customer support? The Ausom L1. Honestly, I would buy this scooter in a heartbeat if I needed an affordable single motor scooter for commuting.

Ausom L2 – $729
Purchase link here.
- Top Speed: 28 mph
- Battery Size: 48V, 15.6Ah (749 Wh)
- Tire Size: 10″ pneumatic
- Motor(s): 800W (single motor)
- Range (claimed): 50 miles
- Weight: 64.2 lbs
The Yume Swift is a good scooter to compare with the Ausom L2 – both have similar motor and battery specs, 10-inch pneumatic tires, and dual swing-arm suspension. But while the Yume Swift sells for $849-899, the Ausom L2 comes in at just $729 and includes NFC card unlock, which the Yume does not. It’s essentially a slightly larger, more stable version of the L1 with similar internals, aimed at riders who want a bit more deck space and comfort without stepping up to dual motor power. If you like the L1 but want something a little beefier, this is a smart move.

Ausom L2 Max – $749
Purchase link here.
- Top Speed: 31 mph
- Battery Size: 48V, 20.8Ah (998 Wh)
- Tire Size: 10″ pneumatic
- Motor(s): 1000W (single motor)
- Range (claimed): 50 miles
- Weight: 66 lbs
The L2 Max takes the L2 and upgrades the motor and battery while keeping the same frame and suspension setup. The result is a single motor scooter that feels like a dual motor in power, without the extra weight or price. It accelerates faster than most single motors in its class and is noticeably smoother at high speeds, thanks to the larger 998 Wh battery. At $749, it’s one of the most powerful single motor scooters under $800 and competes directly with models like the Apollo Go or VSETT 9+. For most riders who don’t need a second motor, the L2 Max is probably the sweet spot in the entire single motor lineup.

The Freshly Charged Take: Ausom Single Motor Scooters
Ausom’s four single motor scooters offer something for nearly every type of rider—whether you’re a beginner looking for a smooth, reliable ride (GX1), a commuter who needs speed and range without breaking the bank (L1), or a power user who wants near-dual-motor performance in a lighter package (L2 Max). Each model shares the same great suspension, water resistance, and NFC features, but differs meaningfully in speed, weight, and power.
The GX1 is best for low-speed urban riding with premium build quality. The L1 is the budget commuter sweet spot. The L2 adds comfort and stability. And the L2 Max pushes the limits of what a single motor scooter can do, rivaling some entry-level dual motor models. Overall, Ausom has done a great job delivering value, performance, and build quality across the board – no fluff, just solid scooters that punch well above their price points.
