Who will love this:
The Turbowheel Swift is a surprisingly well rounded scooter that looks great and can be easily differentiated from cheap beginner and rental scooters while outperforming many scooters at its price point.

What I think:
I prefer handsfree transportation devices with only one wheel like the electric unicycle and the Onewheel but I have been searching for the perfect electric scooter so that my wife can join us on our many electric rideable adventures.
My search for the best electric scooter started with the rental scooters that littered the streets of Denver and San Diego. Then we tried the Ninebot Max (watch my review video of the Ninebot Max here) and after much research, my wife and kids tested the E-Twow GT and now the Turbowheel Swift.
After test riding all these scooters, a unanimous winner was crowned for the best scooter for the price by my family: the Turbowheel Swift.
You can read all about the stats and specifications one the Turbowheel Swift here, but I’m going to focus on the overall ride feel and comfort and why my family chose the Turbowheel Swift as the winner.
Appearance:
The Turbowheel Swift is a rugged looking scooter and will not get mistaken for those cheap rental scooters or any of their clones. The front and rear drum brakes, suspension, and lights makes the Turbowheel Swift a scooter for serious riders.
Acceleration and Top Speed:
The Turbowheel Swift is no slouch but there are certainly other scooters that will accelerate faster such as the E-Twow.
The top speed of 24 mph was more than adequate for the needs of my family and could easily pass the Onewheels while keeping up with most electric unicycles during family group rides.
Climbing hills and riding off road was also no problem for us.
Ride Feel:
The ride feel of the Turbowheel Swift was immediately evident with our family members. The acceleration was nice and smooth which helped my wife and kids feel safe and stable on the scooter.
While some prefer thumb throttles for electric scooters, my wife and kids all favored the finger throttle of the Turbowheel Swift because they felt less fatigue with the finger throttle during long rides and they felt like they could accelerate smoother this way.
The front tubed pneumatic tire along with the front and rear shocks provided a very smooth ride.
Braking:
Front and rear braking via the hand brakes was intuitive and worked very well. Even when my daredevil son decided to send it and go flying downhill at top speed, the brakes performed wonderfully.
The braking was smooth and even and he never felt like he was going to be thrown off because the brakes were too aggressive but we always felt safe and in control knowing that both the front and rear brakes would stop us when needed.
Safety:
As a safety first guy, I actually like the smooth and even acceleration even if the Turbowheel Swift doesn’t take off out of the gates like a Russian racehorse.
I also like the very effective front and rear brakes and the lights. The scooter weight is balanced and sturdy which helps the rider to feel safe during rides.
Portability:
This was the largest scooter that we have tried but the folding handlebars and the ease at which it was to fold the scooter made carrying it around pretty easy.
The most underrated feature of scooters is the kickstand. While the kickstand doesn’t add to portability, it certainly makes a scooter much more convenient and I wouldn’t get a scooter without one.
Finally, the rear handle is super convenient for easily picking up the scooter and even though the Turbowheel Swift was heavier than some of the other scooters we tested, my wife and kids appreciated the rear handle which made moving the scooter up and down a few stairs very easy.
The Flaws:
There are wires that run from the handlebars to the body and wheels of the scooter. The wires are wrapped and bundled together nicely but some may not like the wires on the Turboswift which differentiates it from the more refined Ninebot Max.
The motor emits a low hum while riding. Out of everyone that rode the scooter, I was the only one to notice this but it didn’t bother me.
Slow acceleration was addressed earlier. If you are looking for a scooter that will take off sprinting out of the gates, this is not the scooter for you. The acceleration is average on the Turbowheel Swift which most in my family liked because they never felt like the scooter was going to take off and throw them off.
The lights are nice but they are low on the scooter which doesn’t provide much illumination for night rides.
Conclusion:
After testing several scooters for my wife, she picked the Turbowheel Swift to be the perfect combination of ride feel, portability, and price. This scooter was also favored by all our kids for transportation to go to friend’s homes or to just mess around in the neighborhood and on nearby trails.
