Inmotion Climber

81RXns37iJL. AC UF10001000 QL80

The Inmotion Climber is by far the most powerful scooter on this list, and we’re guessing the only reason it doesn’t beat the VSETT 8 in top speed is an electronic limiter. This one is going to be the quickest to 15 mph, the fastest up a hill, and the most responsive when overtaking slow e-bikes 😀. The Inmotion Climber also boasts the best water-resistance rating, making this a solid choice for a high-performing scooter on a budget. While the price is higher than the other four scooters listed, we think the features and added power make up for it.

NIU KQi3 Pro

NIU kqi3 Pro Web

This is possibly the best-selling model on the list, and not without reason. It’s cheap (second cheapest on the list), has a solid brand reputation, and is the only scooter with a front disc brake, arguably the most important brake on a scooter. Despite the somewhat under-powered 350W motor, we still think the KQi3 Pro is a solid scooter in the budget category.

Anyhill UM-2

This is the only scooter on the list with a removable battery, which somewhat addresses the low-range issue. This is also the cheapest scooter on the list, and even if you buy an extra battery (on sale for $269 here) the total price is still right in the middle of our list of five scooters. This scooter also has 10-inch tires (potholes beware) and we’re confident it deserves a spot as a solid pick in the budget scooter category.

VSETT 8

VSETT 8 Electric Scooter

If you want bang for buck, this scooter is the answer. The VSETT 8 boasts both the fastest (25mph) and longest range (25 miles riding fast) of any scooter on the list, and it’s right in the middle in terms of price. A solid option for someone with longer range needs, who enjoys a bit of speed thrill as well. The suspension is a welcome addition, something missing from the previous three scooters discussed.

Emove Touring

Although we’re not a fan of the tiny 8-inch tires, this scooter is pretty impressive, given that it is both the lightest (40 lbs) and has the highest rider load (308 lbs), suggesting that it is very solidly built. The dual spring suspension will ensure a comfortable ride for even very heavy riders. The charging time is also only 4 hours, the lowest on our list.

The Winner(s)

It’s a tie between the VSETT 8, and the Anyhill Um-2. The VSETT wins because of its suspension, high speed per dollar and range per dollar, and the Anyhill wins because of the removable battery, which is a feature we wish was shared by many more electric scooters.

Honorable mention: Ridefaboard J01 Pro

While not an established company in the E-scooter world, the Ridefaboard produces a very impressive budget scooter, especially when compared to the five on this list. For $509, you get a scooter that exceeds the top speed of the VSETT 8 (28 mph), and equals it in range (25 miles riding fast). While it is on the heavier side (61 lbs) and lacks a water-resistance rating, it’s definitely worth considering for those on a budget.
