Pros of the ASYNC A1 E-Bike:
- Large Samsung 21700 20Ah battery
- Full suspension
- Looks futuristic
- Seat is nice and comfy
- The display is easy to read in direct sunlight
- 1200 watt motor with a peak output of 2500 watts
- 4-piston hydraulic brakes
- The app allows you to lock the bike
- Allows you to go up to 33 mph with throttle only once unlock mode is activated
- Preloads well when hitting jumps
- Lights look really cool
Large 20Ah Battery:
The generous battery capacity ensures extended riding range, a crucial feature for e-bike users. I’m astonished that the A1 Pro has a 40Ah battery, which is the biggest we have ever seen on an ebike. They also use high-quality Samsung 21700 battery cells which is a huge plus over cheap Chinese battery cells.
Full Suspension:
The full suspension setup contributes to a smoother and more comfortable ride, particularly on rough terrain. The front has dual-fork air suspension and in the rear, there is a coil shock.
Futuristic Aesthetics:
The bike’s futuristic design appeals to those seeking a modern and stylish e-bike. You will definitely get noticed riding around on the ASYNC A1.
Comfortable Seat:
I was very surprised on how cushy the seat is. The comfortable seat enhances the overall riding experience, especially during long journeys.
Sunlight-Readable Display:
The easy-to-read display, even in direct sunlight, provides essential ride information at a glance. It also gets bonus points for being accurate when tracking speed. Most displays are a few mph off when tracking speed, whereas the A1 display read exactly what my GPS Dragy system confirmed.
Impressive Braking:
Equipped with 4-piston hydraulic brakes, the ASYNC A1 offers reliable stopping power and control.
Powerful Motor:
The 1200-watt motor with a peak output of 2500 watts delivers ample power, ideal for tackling challenging terrain and reaching higher speeds.
33 mph top speeds with throttle only:
I love that I can reach a top speed of 33 mph with the throttle only. Most ebikes cap you out at 20 mph when you are using the throttle only. You will have to unlock the off-road setting from the app to achieve higher speeds.
Jump-Friendly:
The bike preloads well when hitting jumps, making it suitable for riders who enjoy off-road adventures and jumps. The overall ride quality on off-road trails reminds me of a dirt bike.
Cool Lighting:
The stylish lighting design not only enhances visibility but also adds to the bike’s aesthetics. The front headlight and rear tail light are like nothing we have seen before. A lot of ebikes use common components so it’s refreshing to see a unique design on the ASYNC A1 to add to the overall aesthetics.

Cons of the ASYNC A1 E-Bike:
- Heavy
- Hard-to-pedal due to no seat adjustment
- Full-twist throttle can accidentally be pulled
- Fit and finish could be improved
- Off-road mode is tricky to get into from the control module
- Motor is loud
- The front light isn’t super bright
- Not a lot of app functionality
Heavy:
The A1 weighs 117 lbs (53kg) making it one of the heavier ebikes. The bike is more like a light dirt bike with not as much torque. Without pedal assist, the A1 is too heavy to ride like a traditional bicycle.
Lack of Seat Adjustment:
The absence of seat adjustment can affect the comfort of riders of different heights. This bike really isn’t designed for pedaling due to the wide frame and seat. However, if you need to pedal due to the battery dying, it will be tough since you can’t adjust the seat to your correct height.
Twist Throttle Concerns:
The full-twist throttle’s accidental activation may be a minor safety concern. Jimmy and I both laid down the A1 because we went to move it while the bike was on.
Fit and Finish:
Some users might find room for improvement in the bike’s overall fit and finish. It seems like there isn’t a clear coat on the bike so the finish isn’t as durable as other ebikes.
Off-Road Mode Access:
Difficulty in accessing the off-road mode from the control module could be frustrating for riders who frequently switch modes. You have to press the + and power buttons to access riding mode 4 which is counterintuitive when riding. I don’t love that I have to hit the power button when riding.
It should allow you to enter off-road mode by simply pressing the + sign once you sign the waivers.
Motor Noise:
The motor’s loudness can detract from consumers looking for a quiet and serene riding experience with an ebike. The 1200 watt motor has a lot of power but it can be obnoxiously loud.
Dim Front Light:
The front light’s brightness may not meet the expectations of those seeking excellent visibility during night rides. The headlight looks really cool but the beam is too narrow so I would definitely upgrade to a handlebar light if you will be doing a lot of night riding.
Limited App Functionality:
Users looking for advanced app features and functionality may be disappointed by the app’s limitations on the A1. The A1 Pro has a lot more app functionality so if you want the most tech, you will want to check out the A1 Pro over the A1.
Conclusion of the A1 Pro
The ASYNC A1 E-Bike stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining expectations. It beckons riders to experience the future of electric biking today. While not without its quirks and considerations, it represents an exciting leap into the world of e-biking, reminding us that innovation knows no bounds.
