Segway Releases New GoKart, E-bikes + More

by Nathan Schaumann

The Segway booth at CES was full of surprises!

At the 2024 CES conference hosted in Las Vegas, Segway announced the Segway Superscooter ST1 (see our full written review here), a new GoKart, and two new e-bikes! Segway’s R&D team has been hard at work recently. Let’s go through the new PEVs.

I had the chance to whip the GoKart Pro2 around Segway’s test track, and BOY was it a lot of fun. Drifting in this thing is incredible, and the acceleration is amazing. While it’s not super practical for city roads, if you have a lot of open pavement where you can ride and you’re an adrenaline junkie, this is a no-brainer purchase.

  • Speed: 26.7 mph
  • Range: 15.5 miles
  • Motors: 2400W x 2 (Peak Power)
  • Weight: 106 lbs

  • Gen-2 Bluetooth Speaker with Engine Programmed Sounds

Segway Xyber E-bike

The Xyber was an absolute joy to ride. I have no idea why they included pedals, as it weighs so much that it’s impossible to get moving without using the throttle anyway. Most of the time while riding I was looking for a secure place to put my feet that wasn’t the pedals. I can see this being a serious contender to the Talaria / Surron models, and I’m looking forward to the pricing details.

Specs:

  • Torque: 175 Nm
  • Battery: 1440Wh * 2
  • Suspension: 120mm (front + rear)
  • Acceleration: 0-20mph in 2.5s

The Xafari looks like a heavy-duty e-bike, and rides like one too. It is extremely durable, has solid hill-climbing power and acceleration, and has most of the standard features you would expect on an e-bike in its class. Nothing in particular stood out from my riding experience, and I’m looking forward to finding out it’s starting price.

Specs:

  • Battery: 913 Wh
  • Motor: 750W
  • Torque: 80 Nm
  • Tires: 26″ x 3″
  • Suspension: 80mm (front), 70mm (rear)
