Tromox MC10 – Watch Out, Sur Ron

by Nathan Schaumann

The Tromox MC10 is an electric motorcycle designed for street riding, trail riding and off-road exploration. It has yet to hit the U.S. market, but when it does it is predicted to disrupt the market share of both of it’s direct competitors: Sur Ron and Talaria. The MC10 boasts quick acceleration, faster than a Sur Ron, as well as refreshing styling that doesn’t just look like a Sur Ron copycat (looking at you, Segway X260). In this review, we’ll dive into what this bike brings to the table and where it is lacking.

Tromox MC10 – Things We Love

Powerful motor: The MC10 has twice the peak power of comparable bikes like the Sur Ron or Talaria.

Comfortable ride: Confidence-inspiring suspension, suitable even for riders unfamiliar with motocross or off-roading in general. Multiple reviewers commented on the MC10’s expert handling of various different terrains, including hill climbs and rough tracks.

Style: A European design with a somewhat futuristic aesthetic, also comes in two colors: black and gray.

Tromox MC10 – Room For Improvement

Not a dirt bike: Despite having many similar features to a dirt bike, the MC10 is not exactly a dirt bike and cannot handle the kind of extreme riding that a dirt bike can.

Price: There is still uncertainty regarding pricing upon US market release, which could impact its competitiveness against Segway, Sur Ron, Talaria, etc. We’re guessing pricing will be comparable.

The Freshly Charged Take

The Tromox MC10 delivers a unique combination of performance, comfort, and unique styling, positioning it as a strong contender in the micromobility market, pending competitive pricing upon its US market release. It doesn’t have big brand-name recognition yet, but we have high hopes for Tromox.
