Recently one of my long time readers and YouTube channel subscribers told me he was selling his Onewheel because it just was not for him. This saddened me but I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about perseverance.
If you are feeling down or considering quitting something that is meaningful and worthwhile to you, watch this video of Eddie first:
For most beginners, the Onewheel is not something you just jump on and go. Like most meaningful things in life, it takes time and practice to improve. This applies to the Onewheel.
My kids hate practicing piano, especially if they are working on a new song. But when they finally have a song mastered, they love to sit at the piano and play the song especially if they have an audience watching and listening.
The funny thing with life is we love to do the things we are good at but we hate to do what it takes to get good at that thing.
-Jimmy Chang (what I tell my kids every time they say they want to quit piano)
Practice and perseverance will get you to that stage where to feel like you are good at something. And then, when you are good at it, you will like doing it.
If you are feeling discouraged because you are not good at something, put in the time and work to get better. Whether it be the Onewheel, piano, making YouTube videos, etc.
Don’t focus on the fact that you are not perfect. Focus on the progress that you are making each day. Don’t get discouraged comparing yourself to someone who is better than you. They have probably been doing it for much longer than you. Instead, find inspiration from them.
Before throwing in the towel on anything worthwhile, put in the work and your perseverance will be rewarded. This is applies to life and for the Onewheel.
